Playing with Fire - An Avatar Fire Ladies Picspam
This is dedicated to zombie_boogie, who requested a Fire Ladies fanmix/picspam in my holiday gift post. I promise, I made quite the effort to try and find songs to fit these girls, but nothing really steller came up, so I thought it might be better if I just stick to picspamming. I hope that's OK :)
This was a ton of fun! Although I don't talk about my love for the fire ladies that often, but I adore how they are so different and unique. I think it's really important that on a show so heavily viewed by children, the 'bad guys' were not only portrayed as being layered (in a way that, for the most part, strayed away from clichés), but also as being their own persons and having different reasons for playing on the 'bad' side. I don't think any of these girls are inherently evil (excluding Azula to some extent.) They are simply products of their environment, and are doing what they have been tought is right. Ty Lee, Mai, and Azula are all completly different people - as showcased by the different places they ended up at the serie's end - and that's awesome! (Seriously! Avatar wasn't not perfect, but the way it portrayed girls kid of way.)
