After work I walked across Westminster Bridge and along the Thames to meet Adrian at the Garden Museum.
It was so lovely to see that it wasn't completely dark at 5:45 pm.
And there was romance in the air. Even the London Eye was dressed up for the occasion!
At the
where Adrian volunteers on a Thursday with Sheila
there was a private view/launch party for their latest exhibition
which was officially opened yesterday (while the museum was closed to the public) by the Duchess of Cornwall, Camilla (no duchesses tonight but there were a dowager marchioness and quite a well-known actress in the crowd).
All the cocktails and the lovely party food were flower-themed
(the sweet popcorns were flavoured with lavender)
A real show-stopper was a floral art installation made up of 3,000 roses suspended from the ceiling with thin copper wire
Quite stunning! (And from
london1952's pictures, it is even more fabulous in the day)
(Adrian is enjoying an 'Orchid in Rhubarb' a cocktail made of rhubarb infused Bermondsey Fry Gin, lemon juice, Liquor 43; I had a couple of Sorrel Collins: sorrel syrup, gin, lemon and soda water)
We left after the speeches just before closing time.
