How quickly do week-ends go!
In a few moments, it'll be 6:47 am on Monday morning again and time to get up. And it will be difficult with being still dark and the freezing bedroom (memo to myself: when we move next time, ensure that we buy a warm house, with central heating in all the rooms).
Our week-end started with dinner at Carluccio's on Market Place. Then we went to renew our gay membership card at The London Palladium!
I had lenticchie e cotechino (lentils and boiled Italian sausage, a typical winter dish) but my lentils were extremely salty. This time (a rare occurrence for me) I complained and we ended up having the plate of biscotti free with my tea and Adrian's bicerin. Then the manager even came to apologise.
was just fantastic! Thoroughly entertaining. I even put up with the occasional kick in the leg, courtesy of the child sitting next to me.
In a way, the show was like a big panto, working on different levels. Lines such as 'I am proud to be a friend of Dorothy's" provoked some isolated laughter, I guess from other childless people!
The rest of the week-end was just as lovely.
Tonight we lit the fire in the sitting room and spent some time reading.
Ah the simple pleasures of life!
