I feel a bullet-point post coming up...

• Adrian (london1952 ) and Ricardo (bazanges ) got back from the their mainly rainy week in France on Wed afternoon.
• I spent Mon and Tue evening cooking and baking: vitello tonnato, roast pepper salad, zuppa inglese, almond and orange macaroons, chocolate marsala cake
• The lovely Ricardo went home yesterday but we'll see him again in 4 weeks' time as we'll all be going to Sitges
• I didn't win the lottery but LJ is back from the dead - at least temporarily
• I've almost finished writing the panto for the local residents' association (5% to go)
• It's sunny today, the garden looks beautiful and it's buzzing with bees
• I've signed up to Mosaics evening classes, starting in September
• The postcards sent to a number of destination from Matera and Puglia 5 weeks ago never arrived
• It's less than 1 year to the London Olympics and am already sick of hearing and reading about it. I am contemplating whether I should stage a sit in in the special blue lanes for VIPs next year to protest about an event that seems to be all about money
• I'm probably too young to be turning into a Victor Meldrew but c'est la vie
• One of the goldfish that disappeared 5 weeks ago has mysteriously turned up today, in dessicated form in the gazebo. Left as a macabre offer in front of the chair. That cat is playing mind tricks on me.
• I am tempted to buy a new digital SLR - the one I have is 5 years old and lately I seem unable to clean its sensor satisfactorily, but I'll probably just have the old camera cleaned for £40 + VAT
• I went to a 50th birthday party last week but only stayed 2 hours
• On Wed evening, as I got off the train the guy in front of me turned round and showed me his iPhone screen. It said "Would you like to have your cock sucked?" I replied: "Thank you, but not tonight".
• Tonight we are going with Lynne into town to meet a friend of hers (and ours) who's an art teacher in Thailand
• I'm sitting in my primrose yellow bathrobe, I've just had a shower and shaved my head and am sipping Moroccan tea
