Malta - arrival

Feb 27, 2010 21:59

The flight to Malta today was full and the 2 hours and 35 minutes felt much longer because it was very warm on the plane.

We didn't really see much of France or Italy as it was cloudy everywhere. But Sicily looked lovely and sunny, the snow-capped Mount Etna in the distance  was beautiful and made you realise how tall that volcano is as the plane was flying over Palermo at the time.

Malta looked very green from the plane but that's because it's winter - in summer it'll be dusty and burnt everywhere.
There are lots of summer flowers in some of the roundabouts: geraniums, snapdragons and stocks!

We only had time to drive to the hotel and unpack before going out for a short stroll (under an almost full moon) and dinner.

It's not even 10 pm but Adrian's already asleep. I think I'll be joining him soon as we are both still Gaga-ed out: so tired that we might be able to sleep soundly despite the screaming baby next door.

malta, adrian
