The other I had a good laugh at work with one of my colleagues.
We had a look at a brochure about Magarpatta City, a new city still under construction near Pune in India where our company is opening a new office (and where - we believe - all our jobs will eventually go).
It seems like a nice concept: combining office with residential neighbourhoods, so that people can walk to work, etc.
But the introduction is so over-the-top that we were in stitches! I know, I know they will have the last laugh, but now that we still can...
I copied it on here, exactly as it is
The story of Magarpatta City
The Pride of Pune
Life as it should be
Imagine a day. A day when you get up early after a good night’s sleep, lookout of your window and see greenery everywhere. Absolute calm prevails. You don your walking shoes and greet your neighbours who are more like good friends. The sunrays darting through the trees ensure tranquility. You then smell that fresh pure oxygenated air. God, it feels good!
You come back refreshed, take a shower and walk to office while your kids walk to school; all a stone’s throw away!
After work, you return home early, because you have forgotten what a traffic jam means. Your family is waiting for you, and after slight refreshments, all of you go out to shop not in your car, but by walk.
Shopping is always a thrilling experience, especially when complement it with a movie. You then hit the entertainment zone to see your kids goof around the gamin parlor.
What about eating out tonight you ask your wife? Now you don’t have to drive through a traffic jam, find that elusive parking spot and wait for hours for that corner table anymore. Because right around the corner, there’s a lovely restaurant that serves delicious multi-cuisine food. Now that you are full, what about a little walk without being fearful. Well, that is the icing on the cake so to say.
You return home with your family thinking what a beautiful day it has been. You look forward to such days for the rest of your life.Reads like a story doesn’t it? But believe us, this is no story. What you read till now is a page taken from a day in the like of the residents of MagarpattaCity.
