Yesterday we had a power fault at work - all the servers located at the old office were unavailable for hours.
So the afternoon was long and boring, well... until a colleague discovered what proxy IP address was needed to connect to the net.
Still it was frustrating as it means that my deadline is now tighter.

This morning we went to Bromley council to give notice for our Civil Partnership.
The superintendent registrar was really nice with a very calming voice: he was the same person that conducted the citizenship ceremony I attended a month ago.
He interviewed me first, then called in Adrian to confirm/complete the details (you are not allowed to prompt any of the answers: Adrian - as I thought he would - couldn't remember my year of birth, without calculating it from my age).
After he entered Adrian's details, the application crashed!
He had to call for technical help to solve the issue, but eventually managed to finish.
Then he answered a few questions about the ceremony, and even gave us a booklet of poems/texts that we could use.
I'm sure that by now our notices will be on the board.
There was only another civil partnership notice: you can easily spot them among the many more of civil marriages because they don't show the applicants' addresses to protect them from homophobic attacks :-(
