hero movie catch-up race
though I've always been more or less up to date due to a bit of comic knowledge and the intense tumblr flood each time, I finally decided to catch up on the superhero movies nonetheless
storywise none of the movies were actually mindblowing - and I think that statement is true even for the movie only people without some comic background knowledge - but let's face it, that was clear from the get-go, it's about the characters anyways
so, here my short impressions
iron man:
nice, solid origin story, j.a.r.v.i.s. is love and I enjoyed the little moment between rhodey and the suit - comic reference AND foreshadowing, nicely done
iron man 2:
tony stark is forever my favourite mister snark XD
not sure if I like the story of this movie better than the first one, hammer tech. was urgh but I enjoyed the actor of the villain dude, forgot his name...his design was cool
I hope for a more interesting story in iron man 3 - there will be another iron man movie, won't there? you can't have robert as the perfect tony stark and not make more than 3 movies with him, would be such a waste
captain america:
well, turned out better than expected and made me actually like chris!cap a little more, though there is still something about him that bugs me a bit, but I don't actually dislike him and have to admit he makes for a good steve... also, bucky! one of my oldest comic crushes <3 I may actually be looking forward to captain america: the winter soldier - :D MORE BUCKY PLEASE
thor:
I know I shouldn't compare but I kept thinking about the comic (especially because it was the comic that actually made me into a thor fan, before that thor was just lol if anything...and ugly XD;) and wow movie!jane was totally not to my liking from the first second onwards, although she got a tad bit better later but only minimal
aaaaaaaand I kept cracking up at fandral, why did I have to recognize josh dallas? xD

it's on ok movie I guess, liked the reference to bruce banner - selvig mentioned him, though not by name
nonetheless I'm interested in thor: the dark world aaaaand the role of eccleston in it besides other things :)
the avengers:
the chitauri weren't that interesting but I think the main point, the building of the avengers team, was quite well done and came across nicely, lovely banter and bonding scenes, looking forward to the sequel although it doesn't seem to be about the skrulls as I had thought at first D: srsly thanos looked like a skrull...
some of the most fun were actualy the little bits of references and overall interconnections of the films, love that about stuff that shares a continuity :D
then again the downside of that are re-casts: took me a while to get used to the different rhodey in iron man 2 because I visually preferred the first actor (damn money issues) and although I deliberately didn't watch the hulk movie and it therefore doesn't concern me I still think it's bleh that it's a different actor than in the avengers, too, despite it also being the same continuity
well, can't change that...
initally I wanted to watch the new spider-man, too, but alas... maybe another time XD!
fun fact:
after all these superhero movies I am surprised that I am not the least bit interested in the batman movie
instead I yearn for an avengers movie about the skrull invasion, cameo appearances of the young avengers would be more than awesome (an idea for a third avengers movie maybe? and how about a young avengers movie? xD)
I really wanna see spider-man and after that I am sure I'd love to see a miles morales version PLEASE PLEASE CAN WE HAVE THAT ONE DAY? THE SOONER THE BETTER
and damn, I still haven't read the latest issue...

seeing captain america and bucky made me go all D:
because I'd really love to have a batman and nightwing movie that isn't cartoon for once

nolan might be nice on action stuff and everything but I'm a bit annoyed of his blatant dislike for robin...
I'd love to see more of the characters that are connected to and important for batman
why can't we have a nice batfamily movie? with dick and tim and jason and cass and stephanie and babs and everyone being awesome and just so aaazsgfvhiavgsifgasf adorbs

this is never gonna happen, is it?
well, at least marvel delivers nicely in the movie department, go marvel!

apropos, the hydra stuff from the cap movie was a bit distracting for me as I imagined each of the hydra goons to be bob 8D
and then I thought about how awesome it would be if deadpool were to show up and...

demands all the way, gimme all the comic film adaptions!
so at least, with another iron man, thor, captain america and avengers movie in the making...
