Happy Birthday, Sanji!
yay, totally fitting for today I have a
...shuraiya flash!
besides sanji that is XDD!
I've actually liked him for quite a long time now, but I never really knew him apart from awesome fanarts, which made me like him in the first place
so about 3 weeks ago I started watching the fourth movie and stopped 48 minutes into it because I had to help my father with his computer
and today I finally finished it
well, it was quite ok albeit super predictable and boring in the second half
in fact I found only the first half an hour quite amusing
:/
I guess I was mostly disappointed that the movie wasn't exactly completely about shuraiya
I mean, it was in a way but his screen time was dissatisfyingly short
but that doesn't change that he's my favourite non-canon character :]
totally dig his design, the hat, the yellow adidas jacket, the trousers~ oh those trousers and shoes are yummy!
also, his hair <3
and I'm in love with his fighting style, he is such an allrounder, very swift, light footed and makes good use of his environment
a bar fight occurs after luffy and shuraiya's first encounter
it's sad but that's actually one of the best scenes in the movie XD;
this one is nearing the end of the movie, it's the fight between shuraiya and whatshisname...
considering the altogether average quality of this movie I still like the fighting (could be much better of course but yeah)
the dislocated arm thing is a bit disgusting, it looks hella painful (ouch, dislocated elbow!)
oh and it's not flowing all too well because I cut out some flashbacks inbetween XD!
(cuts are after the dislocating and before picking up the shovel)
yeah so the animation and drawing style weren't the best but quite ok I guess
the story was lame but there were some cool moments spread throughout the whole thing
so it's at least watchable
shuraiya has his issues but I still like him very much :]
it's also very funny how fandom mostly pairs him with ace! xDD
I swear ace gets paired with EVERYONE xD!
I think it must be the big brother thing and the visual resemblance (hairstyle, face)
but then again is also very often depicted as super feminine and über-uke in those fanarts
it's mostly cringeworthy but funny XD
wanna know my OTP with him?

sanji for some reason was super adorable in this movie, despite his immensly short screen time, but even when he only was in the bg he always did something adorable XD!
(see my first video, he inspects the log pose VERY thoroughly xDD)
and he rescued the day, so to say!
when they revealed gasparde's devil fruit powers I was like "LOL srsly?! I SO KNOW HOW TO DEFEAT HIM!" and then sanji went and brought what I thought of
that was actually quite awesome :D
and without it luffy would have died, probably
