All right having watched all of the three hour Pilot (broken up into two eps) and the first real episode, I have to say... I'm bored.
People, this is STARGATE. Not, Star Trek. The theme behind the show is that lovely, round orifice that flushes sideways, not a bloody space ship on the proverbial three-hour tour.
Yeah, I get they wanted to differentiate this series from all the others, but at this point I'm hoping the ship flies into the sun and kills them (instead of just doing a drive-by to refuel, which is what I suspect). I don't give a flying fuck about any of the characters, really (there's a few I like, but there's nothing to write home about), I think Rush is an asshole and Telford is a macho jerk and hope the two of them flush each other out an airlock soon.
Will I watch again? Probably, but never again live. I kept trying to fast forward and got more irritated with the show when I couldn't.
I think I'd rather watch reruns of SG-1 and SGA at 9 p.m. Friday nights. Seriously. At least I gave a damn about those characters.
