My out in the middle of nowhere boonies town finally got a movie theater.
This means on my days off I've been partaking of all those must see films that I otherwise wouldn't have had time to see.
Last week: Wolverine. Awesome. And while it did diverge from the canon background story for Logan, it at least ended up where it was supposed to be.
Today: Star Trek. So y'all'll understand I grew up reading my Dad's SciFi Bookclub selections and watching Star Trek addictively. Yes, as reruns, but just barely. (Yes, my friends, I'm that old.) I love scifi, no two ways about it. J. J. Abrams' vision, is marvelous, with far more than just winking nods to "canon." He pulled off a friggen miracle and without using the ultimate cliche at the end. Bravo, Mr. Abrams. Not everyone has the balls to make a reboot and stick with it. And it works. While I will always love the original cast -- they were my scifi staple when I was young -- I look forward to seeing more movies with this rebooted cast.
In other news.... Got a raise at work. A whole 41 cents. Wowza. *rolls eyes*
Got a check for $395 dollars for overpayment on the Avenger the same day the first payment for the Charger was due. Irony anyone?
Have made some minor tweaks to the VS site. Killed the Library link due to the fact the Library currently doesn't exist. Got a link up to the rebuilt I-Man web page I did, so peeps who want to take a stroll down memory lane can. And liked the message board button to the I-Man lj. Speaking of which, I'm supposed to be rewriting a scene right now and am procrastinating horribly.
