it coulda been worse

Really, it could have been.  I could have found this out the hard way, like after getting a flat tire.

I know, I know, what the devil am I talking about?  Simple, my car.

Today's plans included hitting the chiropractor (done), getting an oil change (done), and mowing the seep field (not done).

At said oil change they mentioned my tires were due for rotation, as it was only and extra $12 I said go ahead, whereupon the guy tells me he needs the key for my lug nuts.  Ummmm...

Okay, so I was aware the car had locking lug nuts on the tires, twas one of the nifty features that swayed me to spend more than I should have on a car. I, however, was totally unaware the key needed to be in my possession.  I just kinda assumed the dealership, or tire place or whatever would have "keys" on hand.  SIlly me.  So, from there I headed to Thurston's from whom I bought the car, and James hrmed and hawed over the situation (really, he has been awesome with everything) and determined that they had never received said key.  Well, shit.  Out of the kindness of his heart he makes arrangements with Action Gator to rip off the old locking nuts, rotate said tires and put new locks, with shiny new key in my hands, on.   Not for free, of course.

Removing the damn locks cost me $50, plus another $22 for new ones - they threw the tire rotation in for free.

Like I said, could have been worse.
