So I have been in Japan for a little over a month now, and school is all time consuming @_@
Today I became upset because when I entered my last period class, my professor asked me to stay after because he needed to talk with me. So throughout the whole class, I was jittery because I didn't know why he could want to speak to me. It turns out that I have to rewrite a paper, because I wrote it on the wrong topic. He appologized because he said it was possiable he didn't explain what he wanted clearly enough. Needless to say, I was very embarrased and so I readily agreed to rewrite it, and left as quickly as I could.
But now that I have had more time to think about it, i'm really frustraited. The assignment was to write a "site report" in relation to an aspect of popular Japanese Culture, and so I wrote about Anime Conventions in America (Okay, i'll admit, mostly because I needed to get the paper finished quickly, and also becasue I didn't have any other events to write about yet- school keeps me pretty busy). Well, my professor corrected me that it needed to be about popular culture IN Japan. Even though it doesnt say that on my assignment sheet. So I have to re-write it. Even though I turned my paper in early, and even though its even slightly over the number of pages he requested. I can accept that I wrote about the wrong topic, but if you arn't very specific about the assignment to begin with, is it actually fair to ask the student to rewrite it? I did the same ammount of work as the other students, as far as writting an essay is concerned.
I'm not going to argue the point with my professor, it's just really embarrising, frustraiting, and disheartening.
This entire weekend has to be dedicated to homework and studying because I have midterms coming up...and this paper -_- Goodbye fun, goodbye vacation, goodbye sightseeing, goodbye to Japanese experience....This is the most trajical thing to happen to me in Japan yet!!!!!!!
