I'm retarded at technology.. I'm trying to upload my pictures off my digital and I can't figure it out... expect a call from me, Jessica.
Rode Storm yesterday in the ring. He was soo good! I used the round pen to warm him up. Used voice commands to change his gait (he's not so good on these. But he'll get better with practice). He went both ways in the circle, then I called him into the center where I walked around the pen randomly and he followed just behind me, licking and chewing. Eventually I led him to the center of the ring where he stood for me to tack him up (no, he wasn't tied to anything). He didn't move an inch until I told him to follow me to the gate where I hung the martingale because I totally forgot I had brought it out and now that he had his girth already sinched I didn't feel like undoing it to put it on. Then I got on him. He was pretty fast at first, but I wasn't surprised at all because it was my first training session of the year and I hadn't ridden him in months. He slowed down for me nicely after some time and set his head. I can't wait to show! :D
Emily, Rileigh and I hung out yesterday after work. Work took FOREVER to get over with. We were all excited to hang out and it was so beautiful out, so the day dragged. Strangely, even though we were triple booked at times, it wasn't as crazy as it can get. Anyways, we decided to go to Sackett Ridge (tack shop in Westfield) just to poke around. Then we headed over to Emily's barn where we played with Charm. We arrived there at feeding time so we got to watch all the horses (about 30 of them) run around like crazy, bucking and jumping in the air. Soo cute! Emily got on Charm first to warm her up, and then I got on her. She's much smoother than Stormy, but she doesn't really like to do any work. She's really hard to keep in a canter and kept wanting to go in the center of the ring. And then she tired out pretty quick which is something I'm not used to, lol. Storm is the Energizer Bunny of horses. Only after long, hot days of showing have I seen him get sleepy and start to drag his feet, but Charm was tired after 30 minutes of riding. We were planning on going to Rileigh's barn to see Remmy and Dancer (her 2 paints), but she had to babysit, so we just all went home after. We planned on meeting up today, but the weather is crappy so we rescheduled to Tuesday.
Dad, Jake, Savannah and I took a ride in the truck last night to Friendly's and got ice cream. It was yummy. But the truck is driving me nuts. The alarm has gone off at least 7 times since yesterday. As of yesterday, ti also decided it was going to make noise. So at least 7 times, the fucking thing has started beeping ridiculously. It needs to be disconnected asap. I'm not dealing with it. The worst part is, is that I'll hit the button to unlock the doors to get in, and if I don't start it up in so much time, the alarm starts going off. So I was trying to get everything in the car after work yesterday, and in my rush to do so, I spilled coffee EVERYWHERE. Ugh. And sometimes if I get out of the thing and walk away (even after hitting the button to lock the doors), the alarm goes off. It's really fucking annoying.
I did some shopping today. I regret it a little because I now have $150 in the bank. This truck has wiped me out! It cost me $160 to register it, and $155 to insure it. Plus inspection was $29. I even deposited $200 in my checking from my savings because I was planning on picking up my new show boots and breeches on Friday (the boots didn't come in, so hopefully this coming Friday they'll be here), and I'm still down that much. I can't spend anything this coming week, because I can't spend my savings on trivial things. Which I kind of did today. I bought a shower curtain ($10), toothbrush holder ($7.50), car air freshener ($2.50), glade spray (1.50), kitty treats (2.50), travel coffee mug ($10) and a usb plug ($15) for my camera. And I didn't even get my clothes hamper I want because everyone wanted like, $7 -$9 for a pop-up mesh hamper. My original one I bought for $1. I refuse to pay that much for something that cheap!
I was planning on riding today again, but the weather sucks. I haven't been outside in a while (and I probably have a parking ticket because I really didn't think I would be in Rao's this long), so hopefully the rain let off and I can ride a little. Poor Cynda. Stupid me forgot to put the blanket on her last night so when I got there this morning, she was shivering pretty bad :( I can't believe mom shaved her this early. But she is feeling better! She even trotted after me this morning! I hope we'll be able to ride her again sometime this year.
As for the Bill thing. Um. I really haven't been thinking about it. I know I did the right thing. I hope he's doing okay. I haven't called him. Should I? I feel like I should. But I really don't know what to say to him. And I don't know if he'll hate me for calling him because it will only remind him that we're not together anymore. Any suggestions?
