I do love this story. It's by turns sad and wistful now. Early on, I thought it was going to be a very dark fic, with Harry being led down a dangerous path by the elder Nott.
Seeing Harry be--have to be--so calculating is sad. Reading him carefully considering Cedric's motives and then have to reflect on his abilities to protect someone against Voldemort... It's hard. That's what makes his reactions to Snape so poignant. Those moments he was moved by Snape planning for his bedroom and insisting he eat and then go to bed...just awww.
And Dumbledore. Ouch. He is so dangerous in this... Preying on people's weaknesses to manipulate them. This Remus is so very broken. While I know that much of that is related to the wizarding world's views on werewolves, I wonder how much of it was cultivated by Dumbledore.
I love this story so so so so so much. It’s unreal how much. I loooveeeee that they have a house now. And I know Harry still thinks of it as snape’s house, but I’m so excited to see how that develops. The bit about the bed and such melted my heart. Also DAMMIT REMUS SO CLOSE.
