Hermione's belief that Nott killed the Dursleys appears to be based in nothing more than 'because they are Death Eaters' which is quite a leap for her isn't it? Regardless of whether it is correct, there could be a lot of possibilities for people who might have killed his family to get Harry. I'm glad to see someone point out that Dumbledore isn't supposed to have ultimate power over children all the time...
Well, occam's razor: if someone killed them to get harry, the one who *has* him seems like the best suspect, especially given the timing of the two events.
I love this story! Funny, but the tension of who this version of Harry will become has me on edge. I'm glad that keeping his Gryffindor friends is still important to him and they are committed to him. I'd be even more worried without them as a touchstone for him.
