I get it! Harry began talking when he was two, and revealed himself as a parselmouth! So James and Lily decided the poor kid was Dark and practically disowned him! Horrible parents, I can't stand them already.
I really like this new story of yours, all the characters feel incredibly in character, and the storyline is unique. Harry's character has so much humor, it really makes the story fly. Very Pride and Prejudice meets Harry Potter.
