I wonder if Serverus would not be off better dead now. So much hate can only destroy a person, it feels as if he has descended into a madness that is almost as bad as the one Harry's parents suffer, but worse because on the outside he appears to be normal.

I still think The lestranges would be more deserving to be used as guineapigs though, so I wonder why Minerva seems to be willing to let Harry use Serverus as an experiment. Or was that just her being deliberately cruel? That would bring me back to my previous statement that ALL of the adults in this fucked up universe are horrible in one way or another.

In a way, yes. Severus has brooded on Lily being alive but inaccessible to him in a way that I don't think he brooded on her death in canon (even though that obviously affected him). And that's gotten to the point that he's perfectly willing to torture people and betray his, at least nominal, side in the war.

Minerva was bluffing. Neither she nor Regulus ever intended to let Harry hurt Severus. It was a threat that made him more likely to cooperate.

( "Albums didn't know about this, did he?")

Loved Minerva in this chapter, can't wait to see how resourceful she will be to Harry.
I do hope that Regulus stays part of the picture though!
