Awwww, brilliant! And I'm glad he could give Colin some closure. Great fic, it was interesting to read about Harry as the Master of Death, the ghosts and all those things. I loved Harry and Draco's relationship too ^^
Yes, Harry and Draco fell into a really good relationship for the two of them. Nice to see. Colin didn't seem to be hero-worshipping anymore. And how interesting that we thought all along that Dennis was acting on behalf of Colin, but the truth was the other way around. Or both ways, reinforcing each other in destructive and self-destructive ways. I would like to see more of Harry's work with Mastery of Death. His going to a haunted house to help someone leave was interesting. What else can such a person do? Usually it is described as power to kill. Could it be power to heal? What might he do with Neville's parents, if anything? I'm influenced in this thinkng by your musical spheres story, also recently completed. :-)
I think Colin's spirit separating itself from the rest meant certain character traits, like the hero-worship, were no longer as strong as they'd been when he was alive.
Huh, I thought most people did things with the Mastery of Death involving necromancy. But I guess I haven't read that many fics other than my own about it. Your ideas are interesting!
Great ending! I liked that twist with Colin being influenced by Dennis's thought. That bit about him just wanting to make his brother happy had me almost tearing up!
The whole story about the ghosts and Harry as the Master of Death was a wonderful read. And I loved how much Draco changed over all chapters- how his focus shifted from fear and revenge towards Harry and the need to be brave to keep him safe. Thank you!
Thanks so much for this wonderful story! Your plot was so intricate and well-woven that I was chomping at the bit between chapters.
I'm starting to write my first Auror case/mystery story and each time the plot trips me up (rather often), I think of how much effort you must have put into creating all the details for this story because it is so good!
I especially loved how you tied in the Bloody Baron, an often-overlooked character with rich possibilities. And the Deathly Hallows practice in the graveyard was a really neat scene.
