Yeah, Ende had the chance to be the kind of negotiator the situation needed, but he was utterly unable to give up that fear, and he never would as long as Harry was a Dark Lord not under control of the Ministry.
I never knew I had such a destructive streak to my personality - you've brought it out and totally satisfied it all in one go. ::bows to you:: The magic here was absolutely lovely. I had this mental image of the Hall of Doors and each one of them framing the spiral of flames as they rotated, and then the braids of flames joined behind them the way you described. I loved that Harry made something other of the Veil. As the current Master of Death, I suppose he could.
As for forcing his hand? Yup, that's torn it. They don't get to dictate Harry's actions. Ende really had a lot of nerve to call Harry out on buying the election for Draco. I absolutely squeed when Harry told Ende that he still wasn't killing anyone and that he refused to become that kind of person, just because they wanted him to be in order to justify the Unspeakable's actions. He's redefining the concept of "Dark Lord" and he's got the magical firepower to back it up. I hope Rita has taken note and now has a clue

Thank you! It did feel pretty good to finally write the scene where Harry just loses his patience and unleashes fire against them. :)
I didn't even make the connection between the Veil and the Master of Death, although I should have. But yes, he's able to do that with that title, if he needs to- and the extra magic that his flames were picking up from the artifacts they burned.
The Ministry will probably do something to replace the DoM, but it's going to take a lot of work, and it won't be like the old one. Draco won't let it be.
