Draco could have explained himself better, but I understand his reaction. Harry acts like a Vulcan sometimes.

I'm happy to see that they're feeling better, though.

Harry is trying to act the way he thinks Draco wants him to act. It is true that he was wrong about Draco wanting that, but Draco hadn't clearly explained the difference between public and private.

And yes, they're struggling back to health.

Why indeed? Draco does behave weirdly. Great chapter!

At least in Harry's perspective!

Thank you.

Poor Harry and poor Draco. I really feel for them both. You did an excellent job bouncing between the pair. Though I probably feel more for Draco because Harry kept his calm, I also feel for Harry because Draco demands obedience and then asks for something "like" disobedience (in Harry's view).

Thank you!

Yes, Harry is very confused about what Draco wants. And Harry would have yelled; he just thought it would upset Draco too much to be worth it.

I am ready to kill that stupid house elf Ossy.

Harry is thrust into this and doing the best he can.

Draco should be thanking Harry for saving his life.

He did. But he does want someone who acts like the saving isn't the only thing he wants to do.

I feel bad continuing to review saying how much I like Ossy, but this Draco and Harry are very weird and I'm having a time identifying with them. I love that Ossy, even though he is ultimately a *Malfoy* house elf, seems to really want Harry to become a full human being, not the shell that he seems to be at this time. He seems to really be able to see into Harry and realize when Harry is shutting off parts of himself. And Harry can't figure out why Ossy would care anymore than he can figure out why Draco could care. Does he really believe that anyone cares for just!Harry, even Ron and Hermione? I'm also a little intrigued by why Draco has decided that Harry is magically weak and can't tell where you are going with this.

Harry thinks Ossy wants Malfoy behavior. He hasn't yet connected it to an idea of more than that.

It's not so much that he thinks Draco can't care for just!Harry, as that Draco has said he expects all of Harry's behavior to change. So why would he want just!Harry? Harry is trying to think of giving Draco what he wants, molding and changing his behavior when he's around him, the same way he didn't do certain things around the Dursleys so they wouldn't constantly insult him.

Why is Harry magically powerful, though? I think a lot of that's fanon, other than the fact that he can perform a Patronus Charm when he's thirteen. It's not powerful magic that wins him anything in canon; it's more help from others and his endurance of pain. (Being able to endure a basilisk fang jammed through his arm, for example).

Thanks for the detailed discussion. And yes, the perennial "Is Harry powerful?" question is a tough one. If you look at just the last book, the answer is "HECK NO!" He does win totally on luck and help mainly from Hermione. Hermione is obviously much more powerful than Harry in DH. But I'm not sure Rowling could decide what she wanted to do or realized how her various plot points would be perceived. We get the same thing from Snape's character. Is he a powerful wizard or not? With Harry, it's not just that he could do a patronus in third year; it's that he drove off a *bunch* of dementors with it. In the graveyard, his spell connected with Voldie's and Harry's little bead of light won! That at least means he's one stubborn young wizard. But it also points to him being as powerful as Voldemort. We don't see much power in fifth year, unless I've forgotten something, but in sixth year, he is able to side-along apparate he and DD after just having it done once to him a few hours earlier. If nothing else, Harry seems to get ( ... )

That point about the Apparition is one that I haven't heard anyone make before, and it's an interesting one. The others, I tend to think of as him being really determined to save Sirius and the effects with Voldemort's wand being Priori Incantatem.

Possibly he doesn't get more powerful, but simply reaches for more power? The way that you can do things with adrenaline pumping through you that you can't do at any other time. Which certainly is the case in this story.
