That was.....tangled. As in, the only one who wasn't all knotted up was Astoria. Wow.

It's like Draco never grew up.

Yes. But then, she actually makes and owns her choices. I suppose you could argue Parvati does, too, but she isn't a major character in this.

I find it at least as likely that Draco wouldn't grow up as that he would face his demons and become mature.

This was totally twisted...

Wow. I honestly don't have much to say, unfortunately. Very, very twisted. Excellent writing, but insane plot. Astoria is the only one I won't call an idiot.

Thank you!

Well, I think Scorpius could qualify, too, but he's not really old enough to show that yet.

Thanks! Astoria definitely has her own biases, but in this case, I don't know that I'd say they color a whole lot.

Draco is pretty, and rich. In this universe, he really never has needed to be anything else- to his detriment.

Draco will be looking for a way out of this, but there really is none.

Oh, flawed Drarry! I like Astoria's observations about everyone, her evaluations of the situation and how she goes about seducing Ginny- noting the things that are hard on her, on how they should have been noticed by someone. She's a bit predatory with that seduction, but with the way she talks about Draco's 'pet' names for her I can see her being hardened by her relationship with him. Very twisted and unapologetic.

Thank you!

The thing is, Astoria would absolutely not have been fazed if she had married someone exactly like her. She would even have welcomed some signs that Draco could think for himself. It's the way that Draco expects total freedom for himself from all the rules that bothers her.

Twisted indeed. Draco & Harry are both equally naive and stupid. They can't help it. They were never both that clever in my opinion; Draco lacked practicality and Harry theoretics. However I think it suits Astoria to keep Draco that way and now in some way Harry. Her actions and choices seem to maintain that. Really, she likes exactly what Draco likes (Gryffs) but she just justifies it with excuses like playing the 'pure-blood' and 'discretion' cards. Why else would she now be setting her sites on Ginny.
I really enjoyed that, thanks. You always leave me thinking so much more. :)

Thanks!

Hee, that's a really interesting view of Astoria. But in this case, I think she would probably reply that the pure-blood and discretion things make all the difference. If she plays the game and wins, then that's entirely different from playing it and losing, the way Draco does.
