Maybe my favorite thing about this chapter is that it shows the depth of Dumbledore's delusion. He is mourning their not giving Quirrell a choice and lamenting that he will have to battle him in the future. And there's Quirrell apologizing to Harry and Snape, regretting what what he did, and mostly because of the injury caused to his familiar. Hmm...since this story was about his possession and he's not been freed, I suppose the story will be wrapping up soon. I hope that you're ready to start the sequel :D

My second favorite this is the foreshadowing that this series will reveal more about the nature of familiars It seems right now the characters don't understand them, but it seems like the storyline is being set up to reveal it to both us and them. It's interesting how much Golden seems to know and how willing (or not) he is to share that knowledge with Harry. Very intriguing!
