Spoilers: Sarah Jane Adventures Season 4 episode “The Death of the Doctor” and for Doctor Who Seasons 1 thru 5 but only if you don't know what happened to the Time Lords
Summary: Someone's thoughts during one particular moment in Part 2.
Disclaimers: I don't own either Sarah Jane Adventures or Doctor Who and I've made zilch from this fic so I ask you sue me not, okay?

When she had said she didn't want to get him into trouble with the Time Lords, she had seen such a terrible flash of pain, sorrow, and grief all mixed into one cloud his eyes. If she were anyone else she would've missed it and of course she wanted to ask him what that look had been about but there was no time. The Doctor quickly turned away clearing any traces of what she had seen, saying something about he'd better go and that he had stuff to do.
If she were anyone else she might buy that line but she's not, she's Jo Grant Jones, and as she watches the TARDIS vanish again she thinks briefly of asking Sarah Jane about what she saw.
