PLOT SINGUP ROUGH DRAFT
OKAY This is a rough draft of the plot outline that I want to post... ... before Friday, to OOC.
IF THERE IS A MOD WATCHING THIS, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF THOSE NUMBERS ARE OK, AND IF NOT GIVE ME SUGGESTIONS. ARE THEY TOO SMALL? TOO LARGE? WHAT?
And feel free to ask questions here anyway. Gimmie feedback y'all, I want this to be the Best Plot Evar.
LADIES AND ALSO GENTLEMEN
I have a (mod approved!) plot announcement.
On August 2, Starscream is doing a BIG HUGE BLOWOUT PLOT. The short version of what he is doing is this:
Starscream builds a robot army, then invades the Empire State Building and puts a giant machine on top of it. Using this machine, he tries to simultaneously turn the population of the City into Cybertronian robots (human sized, but with sparks and alt modes), all the machines of the city into Cybertronian drones (bit like animals of various types), and brainwash them all into thinking he's awesome.
You can find more details here. Yes, I talk pretty much forever, but there is a reason my handle is teal_deer.
Sentinel Prime is also involved in his own way, but Pocky can better explain that than me.
A few more details!
1.There will be NO comm-based announcement. Starscream will, for once, NOT post to the comms evilly gloating. The first you will hear of it is from the news going “Robots taking over the Empire state Building. And now back to the Cony Island hot dog contest!”
2. There will only be two deaths in the process of taking the building, and both will be accidental. Starscream himself is trying very hard not to kill anyone, because every person that dies is one less Cybertronian for his Glorious New Empire.
ANYWAY. You are asking BUT TEAL. WHAT DOES THIS HAVE TO DO WITH US?
WELP. MANY THINGS, ACTUALLY...
As mentioned in the overly TL;DR explanation under the link, the machine WILL be going off regardless, but due to how it will go off and it being damaged at the time, it won't do what it's supposed to. There will be NO brainwashing effect - everyone will be completely themselves for the duration.
What can happen is this, and it is entirely optional (mods, correct me if I've got some of this wrong / if the time spans aren't right)
- Other robots! - Ordinary machines, like Mountain Dew vending machines, X-boxes, steering wheels, cars, airplanes, laptop computers within three blocks of the Empire State Building will spontaneously animate into robot drones. They'll be much like Earth animals, but all quite berserk (imagine a stampeding zoo full of rabid animals and you'll get the idea.) They WILL attack everything in sight, including each other. GO HEROES GO.
- Souls-To-Sparks - People's souls (if your character has one) will be converted into Sparks (ie, robot souls). There's hardly any difference, except that Sparks are positron-based and detectable by modern technology as a bundle of energy. You will also feel very weird, and characters sensitive to the supernatural will notice something different about you. If you have soul-based powers, well... up to you how this affects them.
- Robots! - Much like the previous Bioliberator event, your character will turn into a robot version of themselves. They'll look the same and have the same powers, but said powers will be robot-y (if they shapeshift, it's now a Transformers style transformation; if they're pyrokinetic they now shoot fire out of their hands; if they're a precog they just calculate things extremely accurately. If you need help figuring out how this should work, ask me :D ) they won't need to eat, drink, or breathe; they will still need something resembling sleep and they'll need electricity or energon to power themselves.
ALSO - this time, you may, at your option, get an alternate mode (yes, this means you temporarily get an extra power). The alternate mode CANNOT have weapons, and it WILL be in scale to your normal size (ie, you can't turn into an SUV, you turn into something with wheels or wings similar to your own size) and will be a Cybertronian-style vehicle, ie, you're not a Honda, you're a strange... mechanical thing with wheels. You CAN do this beast-wars style and be animal-ish (ie, a robot wolf-like thing) but, again, no weapons.
These effects can last one to three days, depending on your preference (again, mods, if this is too short/long lemmie know). If you want your character to be affected longer, I suppose you could take it up with modly folk. Also, you can have both a spark and a robot body, or either one (fleshy body + spark or robot body + soul) as is your wish.
To prevent too massive a clusterfuck, I'm putting a cap of 20 people on this one, and they can overlap with the heroes/villains involved.
Also, yes, NPCs will be affected, and in far greater numbers (Zero / modly sorts, can you give me a good number? People within three blocks of the Empire State would work. I'm thinking about 100 people would do me?)

Believe it or not, this mission is optional. Starscream's been getting more and more bonkers since Skyfire left, and a bit prickly about all of you (yes, even you, Slippy. Even if you're hot). He will ask for your help, but, surprisingly, not order it. THUS! If any of you can't or don't want to participate, you don't have to.
If you do! Your job will be to help direct the robot army, deter heroes from entering the building, and so on. Shockwave! If you are sane enough, Stars would appreciate your help in setting up the machine and kidnapping Waspinator. No limit to the number of 'cons involved.
DECPTICONS INVOLVED (and their duties)
HEY OTHER SUPERVILLAINS! WOULD YOU, YES YOU, LIKE YOUR OWN SLICE OF WORLD CITY-DOMINATION PIE?! WELL, STARSCREAM HAS WORK FOR YOU.
Basically, Stars figures that one robot army won't cut it. SO. If you are a supervillain, and you want to help cause mayhem that day to make Star's job easier in exchange for vague promises of continents, cities, districts of the city, money, fame, or immortality, WE ARE HERE FOR YOU. If you want your bad guy to help in the mayhem-causing to keep those pesky heroic types from getting to the Empire State, please sign up here! For larger ideas (like if you want to summon sandworms or something) perhaps run it by mods first as I don't want to blow up the entire city.
As for how Starscream will rope people in - he does keep track of villain-ish types, and he'll go through the Coalition. If you aren't Coalition but still want to be involved, post here and explain how Stars might know that your character is villainous and I will soon give you guys an IC invite to our very own Evil League of Evil.
Finally, Stars will be giving a different story than he's giving to the Cybertronians. He'll still say that he's turning people into brainwashed robots, but without the whole “so I can bring back my homeworld” bit and instead spin it into “So that we, the Coalition, can finally take over this city and turn its inhabitants into our willing servants!” He will thoughtfully leave out the whole “Oh yes and you guys aren't immune to the machine's effects” bit.
Cap of six non-Decepticon supervillains, plz. I love you all but I can only have so many of you involved :( Oh, and since I talked to them on the CR meme, Horrible and Monarch get first dibs if they so choose.
VILLAINS INVOLVED (and their duties)
HEROIC TYPES! We obviously need people to stop this mess! COME DO YOUR HERO THING.
There are two stipulations - Waspinator has dibs on killing Starscream, and I think Sentinel Prime has dibs on some initial machine-sabatoge. Everything else is fair game. In the beginning there will be robot army to fight through, hostages in the Empire State to rescue, and supervillains and Decepticons to defeat! Afterwards there will be traumatized NPCs that turned into robots to console and psychotic berserk robots to defeat!
For actually storming the Empire State, I am putting up a cap of 15 heroes. IF YOU WANT TO FIGHT A SPECIFIC VILLAIN THAT WILL BE INVOLVED (be they a Decepticon or other supervillain) PLEASE WORK IT OUT BELOW AND LET ME KNOW SO I KNOW WHO IS FIGHTING WHO, AND ALSO SO THAT YOU DO NOT MISS THE CAP AS THAT WOULD BE SAD :(
For the cleanup of robots afterward, you guys can have as many people as you want, just... post at your leisure that you found a vicious cell phone in a dumpster or something.
