I was expecting three phone calls.
I received three phone calls.
They made my day. It was that simple.
The bad:
- Cold Stone may or may not need help.
- Alltel stuck its tongue in my face about my phone. I'm pretty much SOL and am hoping my old phone can work with my plan. Take that, capitalism, says the girl who knew there would be a good reason for keeping that old piece of junk.
- Spring quarter grades could have been higher, but I have perfect friends to live up to.
- I miss everyone.
- No ride = biking downtown tomorrow.
The good:
- Michelle and I took a long walk around Lincoln and received multiple honks by young males. Apparently walking is a foreign concept in this city. Or maybe we're just pretty. I like pretty.
- My Jess is still doing good.
- Steve's face is doing better!!! And his first day of interning was pleasant and productive. Yey Steve.
- I'm going to start my research tomorrow and be productive myself.
- My room is clean. :)
- There are lots of cheap cars in the want ads.
- There are more "good" items than "bad" ones.
Thank you guys for calling, all three of you. I like it when people follow-through. Tonight was a nice blend of spending good time with the rest of my Lincoln self while checking in with the two people I miss most. It was also the most fun I've had since being home and we didn't even really do anything. This summer might turn out ok after all. I came home expecting things to be different, forgetting that my mother never gave me hand-outs; if I want something, I need to get it myself or lay out a game plan of exactly how I need her help. It's not that I mind fending for myself...I just forgot. But I figure things out, one way or another.
I didn't think I could miss someone this much. It's bittersweet - bitter in the missing, but sweet in the caring. I love hearing that voice.
