Surprise update from Ohio: nationals are going as well as I expected nationals to go - tomorrow will be the killer with three L-D rounds and only one of prose. However, when I get done tomorrow, I'll only have one L-D round left unless I break. I've learned so much this year, but I'm still eons behind all those who did debate in high school (Me: topicality...whaaaa? Habermas? Whaaaa?) But my prose was good. It felt quite dog-like and sharp - I just hope I didn't go overboard on playing things up and caused myself to go overtime...we'll see...here's to going out on a high note!

I'll miss speech and debate - I haven't completely solidified my decision (I never do until I absolutely have to decide things) but I think it's for the best. I love it and I've learned so much - I definitely would not be the person I am today without it - but I think I need to use those skills elsewhere, like on Feedback and in my writing.

I came up with an op/ed piece idea yesterday for my Editing and Writing lab homework: how the ASG elections don't generate student interest and how it reflects a general atmosphere of apathy towards current events and political affairs in our generation. Ideas? Questions? Complaints? I'd say "feedback", but I don't want Republican propaganda (oooo, burn....) :)

Speaking of - my latest beef with the Elephant party?
They ruined debate: no fiscal responsibility disad, no ANWR disad, and no Social Security disad. Lamoids.

Fun times, but can't wait to come home. It's nice to run away, but we can only pretend for so long that we don't have work piling up exponentially before it comes crashing down upon us. God helps us catch back up...
