WHAT: It's time to SHOP 'TILL YOU DROP.
Mmm. Rainy, frigidly cold day outside, heaters and steaming frappes inside. At the tiny metalwork table set outside the Starbucks in Crystal Court's food court, a man sat leaned back in his chair, beverage in hand, cheerfully humming a tune as he sipped from it occasionally, grinning out at people who would chance to catch his eye. Closer to the holidays, there were all sorts out and about and John, ever the opportunist, had a small sketchbook settled before him that he would doodle in when a woman passed by with a particularly choice coif of hair or a man with the most unusual sweater vest strolled into the shop.
His cell phone remained still and silent at his side, clipped to his belt loop so he wouldn't loose the damned thing.
Truth be told- He was more excited for Valley Bloke and his friends to arrive than he'd initially suspected of himself. Overpriced though the mall might be, he was fairly confident of his pocket money and even at the thought of the challenge that one of his guests might break that confidence, John's grin grew exponentially.
He watched a middle aged woman and her chihuahua scurry off toward the Pooch Palace on the fringes of the 'ring of fire'- where the restaurants tapered off to shops. She'd had a look on her face that suggested perhaps she'd been a bit off-put by the heavily tattooed man smirking at no one or nothing in particular.
