Uh oh.

Out of all the stupid things Tino had ever done in his life, this had to be one of the stupidest and the most idiotic. Thinking back to the conversation with Malin at that cafe where they had agreed to share Tino's apartment, Tino wondered if either one of them had been in their right mind, especially considering how Malin seemed to think of Tino. And to be honest, even Tino had his limits.

Currently he was afraid of what might happen if he reached that limit.

Suddenly then there was a huge BANG noise on the door and Tino jumped up from his chair. She's here! Putting his cup of coffee away, Tino continued his thought desperately. But why must she abuse my door...

Rushing to the front door, Tino opened it and the first thing he saw was a huge cardboard box, but when he lookd to the side he saw the very pissed off looking face of Malin. Flinching a bit, he held out his arms and mumbled nervously. "May I take that..?"

Why was it that every time she saw Tino Väinämöinen's face, she felt like punching him although she didn't really support violence of any kind? Just the nervous expression he always had around her was enough to irritate her to no end. Honestly, he's such a wimp, she thought annoyedly and glared at him. And why couldn't he speak properly? Is it really so hard?

She frowned at the man and thrust the box into his hands before turning around and returning outside to get a new one. She didn't utter a word while doing so, but one could clearly sense a tense atmosphere when she returned to the apartment she and Tino would be sharing from now on with yet another cardboard box - this time full of clothes. It wasn't as heavy as the book box so she was happy to carry it into the apartment and leave the heavier box for Tino to take care of as she pushed past him.

She looked around and said, "Looks a bit shabby. Oh well."

Letting out a quiet oompf-noise after Malin shoved the box against his chest, Tino took a good hold of it to keep it from falling. Good evening to you too... Sighing, he carried the box to the room that had belonged to Eduard not long ago and put it down, moving to get a new one. Because even if there were some communication problems between him and Malin, they were still going to be roommates from now on and that was enough reason to try to patch up their weird bumpy relationship. If that was even possible.

When he passed Malin in the livingroom doorway, he heard the comment and twitched a bit, rubbing his temples. "I know it's not as fancy as your previous apartment, but..." It's not worth it. "...nevermind."

Walking out of the apartment and down the stairs as fast as he could to save himself from the possible sharp answer. It was too late to take this back now, wasn't it? Squeezing the bridge of his nose, Tino felt the incoming headache. Stress, stress, stress, stress. Arriving down, Tino saw the piles of cardboard boxes and ( ... )

Hearing Tino's explanation and then the quieter nevermind, Malin opened her mouth to reply but the man had already disappeared outside and left her alone in the apartment. Malin hmph'ed and scowled after him before looking around curiously again. She slowly walked into the room Tino had left the book box in and frowned, putting the box she was carrying down to the floor. The room wasn't big but it wasn't too small, either. She could live here alright ( ... )

Walking back inside, Tino quickly noticed Malin sitting on his couch, reading a newspaper and practically doing nothing. Isn't she..? "Uh, wasn't there still many boxes outside..?" Tino tried to sound casual but you could pretty much hear "Am I supposed to carry all of your stuff inside all by myself?" from his tone of voice.

It felt like everything was trying to make Tino snap today. It wasn't a nice feeling at all. One thing he had always thought of as one of his good sides was that he didn't have a bad temper. Usually. It wasn't like it was just Malin's fault that his pulse was starting to rise and that the headache finally started, both combining together and causing the feeling of someone hammering the inside of his skull in a steady rythm. Just so happened to be that Malin had been the straw to break the camel's back.

Groaning quietly, Tino put the box down and pressed his eyesockets with the heels of his palms. Coffee. I need coffee. Now.

Malin raised her look from the newspaper and smiled at Tino, looking as innocent as she possibly could. "Oh, I already carried them out of my old house," she said cheerfully and stood up from the couch, walking slowly towards the man with her hands behind her back. "I feel a bit tired, so I decided I could take a break. Do you mind? Oh, I'm sure you don't. You were so kind to carry the CD player to my house back then, too."

She patted him on the shoulder and smirked slightly, trailing her fingers down his arm. "Surely such a strong man can handle a few boxes? Hmm?"

She only now noticed a door on her left. Her eyes started shining as she realized that it had to be Tino's bedroom - what would be a better way to annoy the man more than to explore his bedroom? Fantastic. She walked towards the door and put her hand down on the doorknob, turning it slowly. "What's here?"

When Malin mentioned the CD player episode, Tino twitched a bit. It was one of those memories he's rather just sweep under the carpet and pretend it didn't happen. It had been pretty awkward. Sighing, he exhaled slowly and tried to calm down. Opening his eyes finally, he suddenly saw the girl right in front of her, smiling innocently. Blinking rapidly, Tino resisted the urge to take a step back. Is she doing it on purpose aga-...

"Surely such a strong man can handle a few boxes? Hmm?"

A shudder ran down his spine when Malin ran her fingers down his arm. And Tino was pretty sure it wasn't a good one either. What was it with girls and their mindgames? Tino had never understood it. And the headache was getting worse. Opening his mouth to say "Fine, I'll carry them for you", if just to get some fresh air and a break from this byzantine atmosphere, Tino suddenly got cut off before he could even start and his eyes widened ( ... )

Malin startled at Tino's loud exclamation and glanced at him over her shoulder, frowning a bit - what could be so important behind this door that Tino didn't want her to open it? Sure, it was his bedroom, but still. However, she had already opened the door slightly and suddenly she heard sharp barking behind it. With wonder she opened the door more and was faced with a small white dog staring at her a bit angrily.

"Oh!" she cried out in amazement and bent down to take a better look at it. She reached out her right hand to let the dog sniff it and smiled widely. She absolutely adored small animals. She couldn't remember Tino mentioning anything about a dog. Maybe it was his friend's and he was just taking care of it? That would be a shame. Malin would definitely like living here more if she had a cute dog like this for company.

"How cute! Is it yours? So fluffy and small..." she petted the dog carefully. She didn't really know how it would react to strangers.

"Ah..."

Tino blinked, hand still reached out. This wasn't what he had expected. At all. Which was a good thing of course, but it took a while for him to adapt to this sudden good turn of events. Letting his hand fall down, Tino watched his little dog sniff Malin's hand suspiciously at first and then wag her tail, seemingly have decided that this person was nice enough for her. That's... Smiling a bit, Tino walked next to Malin and carefully crouched down. "Yes." he finally answered in a clearly affectionate voice, reaching to scratch Flower-Egg behind her ear. "She's my little angel." Lifting her up from the floor, Tino stood up and offered her to Malin. "Don't worry, she seems to like you..." ...for reasons unknown, he added in his mind.

The headache was still there but not as pounding as it had been just seconds before, and this breather was more than welcome to Tino.

So Tino liked animals as well? Well, at least they had something in common. Malin was amazed by the warm tone in his voice; he clearly loved his pet very much. It made her feel a bit jealous. She had always wanted a pet, too. But her parents had never allowed that - money problems, they had explained - and she couldn't take care of one now that she was older and didn't have time. And from now on she would be living with someone else so she couldn't get a pet now, either.

A bitter expression passed on Malin's face briefly when she remembered her childhood and the corners of her lips turned downwards. She reached out her hands to take the little dog into her arms, forcing a gentle smile on her face again. She lifted the dog to her eye level and then hugged her close to her face.

"What's her name?" Malin asked, looking at Tino again.

This was the first time Tino had seen Malin actually be genuinely gentle with something and it was quite a captivating sight. It was a whole new side of her.

Staring at them both with a small smile on his lips, Tino answered quietly, "It's Flower-Egg," before rubbing the back of his neck and letting out a deep sigh. He still needed that coffee. But he still needed to take care of those boxes as well. Which one should he do first? The boxes, probably... Since the coffee he had left on the table was probably cold already and it would take time to make more.

She's right, it's not a big job for me, I'll do it quickly, and then I can sit down and have my coffee... And everything will be alright... Pinching the bridge of his nose again, Tino turned around to walk to the front door.

Malin raised her eyebrows at Tino when she heard the dog's name. Flower-Egg? What kind of a name was that? It sounded like... well, like a flower's egg. A lady like this would've deserved at least a prettier name. Malin looked at the dog and nodded firmly. "I'll call you Flower, then." She scratched Flower-Egg behind her ear and then hugged her tight to her chest. "Aww, so cute! I think we'll get along well, Flower." Can't say the same about your owner, she added in her mind ( ... )

Carrying the rest of the boxes upstairs to their apartment, Tino hummed quitely to himself, "Ja se Oolannin sota oli kauhia, huraa, huraa huraa~..," careful not to be heard by Malin, because he didn't know if she knew the song, and even if she did, he didn't think she'd take it as something even close to funny.

After finally setting down the last box, Tino stretched his back, moaning a bit when his spine popped. "Aaah, that almost got my back..." Sighing, he looked around the room, now full of all kinds of boxes, and wondered how Malin was supposed to get all that stuff fit into this room or even to this apartment. I don't think that Eduard and I had this much personal stuff even if we had combined all of our things together... Oh, well. He sighed and walked out of her room, to the kitchen, and grabbed a coffee bag, going to the coffee maker.

Should I make two or three cups..? I say three. Two at least but it's good to be prepared. I wonder if Malin drinks coffee? And if she does, how much? Should I just make at least 5 cups just in ( ... )

[ooc: "When with three hundred ships sailed the Englishmen on the shores of our Finland~~"

Malin sat down at the table and munched quietly on her sandwich while watching Tino carefully from the corner of her eye. She wondered how they were going to stand each other. Well, if they avoided one another as much as possible, then maybe - just maybe - it would be possible to survive this. Malin was pretty sure the man hated her guts already. For some unknown reason it bothered her a bit.

However, she quickly shrugged the feeling off and closed her eyes when she smelled the delicious scent of hot coffee. "Mmm, coffee," she sighed and got up to pour some for herself as well. "The only thing that keeps me going. By the way," she then added casually, "I think we should figure out what each of us does to keep this place tidied up and pleasant. I can't stand dust or disorder. You better not be the kind of guy who doesn't care for his environment in the slightest ( ... )

Glancing at Malin who had appeared next to him, Tino raised his eyebrows just the slightest bit, partly wondering why Malin seemed to be so comfortable with eating or drinking his stuff without even asking (even though he was sure she would pay for them later), and partly because of the look she gave her. Did he look like a person who didn't care about keeping order in his apartment? Well, of course sometimes (during the most important hockey tournaments, finals, first few days of vacations, when he'd get drunk...) he tended to let this and that laying around and maybe sometimes he forgot the dishes in the sink for several days but NORMALLY he thought that he was actually a pretty clean person for being a single man of his age.

"Yeah, I mean, of course," he said, turning to look away again to pour the coffee in his mug, "...Eduard and I had an agreement that both took care of their own stuff and cleaned when either one had more time. It actually worked for us." ...But that was Eduard.Taking a sip, Tino closed his eyes and sighed, ( ... )

Malin tilted her head and looked back at Tino, raising her eyebrows slightly as well. Was he surprised? What, did he think she wouldn't have thought of the practical arrangements they needed to make in order to be able to live together in this apartment? If that was the case, then he was wrong. She frowned. Malin liked it when she had everything organized. There wouldn't be any unpleasant surprises that way. If the apartment was clean at all times, she wouldn't have to do any quick cleanups after hearing there were guests arriving in 30 minutes. That would be awkward ( ... )
