WHO: KOOLINAVIA Valdi, Hans, Tino
WHEN: Tuesday morning, December 8th
WHERE: a market in Baroque Street
WHAT: Having just arrived in Liberty, Valdi decides to explore the markets around his apartment. Unfortunately not everyone loves seafood as much as he does.
RATING: PG
Having left most of his luggage with Centralia's Receptionist, Valdi had nothing to do but wait until his half-brother returned home and let him into the apartment. The thought itself was more than a little daunting... He'd never met this relative before and hardly seen a photo of him, yet he would be spending the next four years (at least) settled into a little apartment with said Norwegian.
Determined to occupy himself elsewhere until the dreaded hour of reckoning, Valdi had set out into the streets of Liberty in order to familiarize himself with what would (somewhat reluctantly) be his new home. And gathering by the odd looks he was getting, the Icelander was not the only one who considered his presence at all odd or unwelcoming.
Perhaps it was the snow-white hair and violet eyes, or perhaps it was the fact that he was clutching a toy Puffin tightly to his chest, but Valdi was almost certain that this ill feeling he was getting was not due to paranoia alone.
Wasn't this supposed to be a multicultural, accepting town?.
Bowing his head the teen's pace quickened towards his destination; a small cluster of market stalls not far from Centralia. Admittedly he felt sick- Culture shock couldn't even begin to describe it- and the stares weren't helping in the least.
He needed comfort food something to eat, but not some crap the Americans liked to pass off as food- a proper meal, something familiar.
Something to ease the (denied) Culture shock.
And that is exactly how Valdi ended up outside a small corner fish market, eying over the selection with slight interest and summing up in his head how much money he did (or didn't) have to afford it. Sure it wasn't as fresh as it was back home but....
