I thought the sun rose in your eyes~ )
... Well, that had really been the last thing he'd been expecting. Being in a crowded city like Liberty seemed to be was one thing - you had to expect to get jostled about a bit by people - but being confronted by a whirlwind of a person in a hurry at close quarters was quite another. Startled, he stepped back slightly, blinking. Which had the added advantage of giving him a better look at whoever it was who had just ran into him.
"Don't worry about it," he began, after the few seconds it took to recover his wits enough to remember to speak English and not Portuguese. He was about to say something else, but stopped in his tracks. Luís had met his fair share of pretty girls who had caught his eye before, but whoever this girl was, his first thought was that she truly was unusually pretty. Beautiful, even, his mind supplied helpfully.
And incidentally, still standing there stammering. This was not the time to let his poetry run off without him, even if surprise did suit her.
"You looked like you were in a hurry to be somewhere," he offered, smiling. "Are you alright?"
Reply
"I-I-I." She lowered her gaze to her feet and was glad the mismatched socks actually looked decent. "I-I-I-I'm fine. I'm. Fine."
Not bad, not bad. Inhale, exhale. Funny, his perfume was nothing like the smell of tomatoes in his apartment. Who... who was this man and what did he do to Antonio? Their smiles were the same. Their voices, on the other hand, were another story. When did his accent get sexier? Not good, not good. At this rate, she'll never manage to even say hi!
"I-I was going to, b-but... oh!" Mei lightly hit herself on the head and stuck out her tongue. "Actually, I thought it was a Monday today, can you believe it? Ahaha, ha..."
Hold up - did she just not stammer through a whole sentence?

"You seem to be a little bit ahead of yourself," he teased gently.
