There are only so many times you can fail to appear in the rink when you're expected to, and be forgiven.
These were things Tino didn't want to think about too much.
But even after being kicked out of the team quitting, his passion for hockey didn't go anywhere, and he had continued to play with his friends on their free time, and he still cherished the sport ( ... )

Seychelles wasn't always the most aggressive girl, but when it came to sports, life was a battlefield and she was a warrior. She wanted the best possible team assembled around her.
She decided it was time for a pre-draft interview.
"I'm Seychelles. It's nice to meet you.~ Are you here to play hockey? I bet you are, you already have your gear. So have you played much before? What position do you play? What kind of skater are you? Fast, strong, controlled, able to recover quickly?~"
Seychelles smiled as she ranted. She hoped it wasn't too much for the guy.

"A-Ah, nice to meet you too, Seychelles...?" Funny name. It must be her nickname... But it's nice. "Yeah, I came here to play, and yes, I've played before... some..."
The problem with Tino was that he was bad at praising himself when he knew that he really was good at something. The exception being if someone was trying to put him down when he was drunk of course.
"I'm usually a blueliner-, uh, I mean a defenseman, but that doesn't mean I couldn't play other positions, though I'm at me best on the right side... I've played goalie in the past too, but usually I play defense, because I..." Gah, I sound so narcissistic... Turning to look down, Tino squeezed the strap of his training bag and digged the ground with the tip of his shoes. "...Well, because I can be a bit rough-, I mean strong... if needed. And I don't know, but my friends have told me I have good control on the puck ( ... )

He donned his jersey, his gear, in silence and emerged from the lockers just as hushed, hoping that by then, people would have arrived who looked like they knew how to play a game.
If they would bother taking on such a tiny person as their goalie however...
"And I don't know, but my friends have told me I have good control on the puck..."
One blade already cutting into the ice, Raivis paused as he stepped out, staring wide eyed at the gentle, kindly Tino and the manically grinning girl beside him.
"M-mister... Väinämöinen?"

"Raivis..?," he said, turning his head towards the voice and seeing the small fidgety man on skates, staring at him with those big eyes of his. "You play hockey too..?" It was a bit hard thing to imagine but Tino wasn't here to judge people by their looks, he knew that he didn't look like the typical hockey jock himself either. Smiling warmly, he waved at him too. "What a nice surprise!"
It really was a nice surprise, and a welcome one too. It was relaxing to know that there were people that he knew here, and for some reason Raivis was the last person you could feel nervous around with. Probably because the small Latvian was in a totally different league when it came to looking nervous, and how could you feel nervous around a nervous-looking person? Putting down his training bag (it was quite heavy), Tino continued smiling kindly as he addressed the younger man.
"Which spot do you play then?"

The girl was pinning him with something of an intense look and Raivis wondered if maybe he should have given a twenty-third consideration to being here at the rink.
He slowly smiled, feeling resistance at one corner of his mouth, dreading it had turned into more of a half grin than anything else. "G-goalie... u-usually...I... d-didn't know you played...N-not that there's anything wrong with that I mean! S-sorry! Er-"
Still fidgeting, he gave a final, desperate sigh and meekly waved a hand at Seychelles. "H-hello miss..."
