This is such a creative name for an LJ-Cut. Seriously. )
"I'm Seychelles Voilier," she informed him. "It's so good to meet you Dewi!~"
With that she threw her arms around him in a giant hug. She was so thrilled.
"That was so much fun," Seychelles informed the taller man, still nestled in his arms. "We have to sing again!~"
They were causing a bit of a scene. The butcher at the meat counter had nearly chopped his hand off because he was so distracted.

"I would love to. Have you a song title in mind?" He made no effort in explaining to her that he had a knowledge for any and every song out of a musical from The Sound of Music to Sweeney Todd: Demon Barber of Fleet Street to Wicked.

Seychelles paced a circle around Dewi, deep in thought.
"OH!~" she cried, suddenly struck by inspiration. "How about 16 Going On 17? It'll stay consistent!~"
Seychelles was already humming, warming up for the next song. The guy was quite handsome, doing a romantic duet promised fun.

"I would be honored," he began, her enthusiasm contagious and seeping through and blurring the line of his attempt to remain civil and somewhat proper despite the name the two had created for themselves for all of the shoppers.
He took her hand and began singing:
"You wait, little girl, on an empty stage
For fate to turn the light on
Your life, little girl, is an empty page
That men will want to write on..."

"This performance is a gift. We'll never see these people again anyways, right?"
As he sang, Seychelles could feel her spirits lifting higher and higher.
Finally it was her turn to sing. She took Dewi's hand and let her voice flow out.
I am sixteen going on seventeen,
Innocent as a rose.

Drinkers of brandy
What do I know of those?

Seychelles kept performing, her head filled with giddy fantasy and crippling nerves. She took a step towards the man, taking both of is hands in her own.
It was just part of the performance right?

And the moment her hands closed so tenderly around his, he knew what was coming. He paused briefly, but reminded himself that this was just an act - a stage performance (in... Walmart of all places!) for the (non-existent?) audience.
But when their lips touched, he felt more out-of-character than he knew he should have...

She was a confident girl in theory, but in practice...this wasn't something she was ready for. Plus Dewi was.... pretty amazing. She didn't want to disappoint him, or his character rather.
"When do we stop? Do I pull away or does he?" she wondered.
She didn't really want it to end though.

How many times had he kissed a girl on stage? It was usually just a peck, about five seconds long, but not... this long.
He finally pulled away, watching her with magnified eyes. He felt a lump form in his throat again. What was his motivation? What character should he be now?

Still hold Dewi's hand, Seychelles headed towards the front of the store, leading the man out of the performance and back to the real world. When they got through those automatic doors, it wouldn't be the same anymore. It wouldn't be acting. Seychelles halted for a moment, turning to face Dewi.
"When we get outside," Seychelles said softly, "We can part ways, if that's what you want."
The very idea made Seychelles want to cry, but she didn't know what to do. What if Dewi thought it was just part of the act? What if it was nothing?

"Right'o," he muttered, following her before the blue-vested employees learned of their location. They were outside in the parking lot, sun glazing over their exposed skin. He rubbed his arm, noticing the saddened tone in her voice. "You have a beautiful voice." He bowed his head in a gentlemanly fashion, dropping a kiss atop the hand that he held. "Thank you for doing a duet with me."

She paused before wrapping her arms around Dewi in a hug and placing a kiss on his neck (she couldn't reach his lips without tip-toeing). She stayed there for a moment, frozen. She knew this was it. The point where they broke apart and moved one, but Seychelles didn't want to. Not one bit.
"I'm assertive with everyone," Seychelles thought, "I flirt and joke and party just like the rest. Why am I so shy around him?"Seychelles didn't have the answers to those questions and Dewi wasn't providing them so Seychelles decided to find out. In a rush of inspired, if not rude, action, Seychelles rummaged through Dewi's jacket pockets, with Dewi still in the jacket until she found what felt like a cell phone. Tugging it from the pocket, she found it was ( ... )

She was charming, cute, and sweet. He may not say much when it came to awkward situations like this (mind you, this whole affair left him very flabbergasted!) but his smile said enough, and all he could do was smile at her.
It was only after she started bounding away did he find his voice again. "I-I'll call you!" After she was nothing but a silhouette on the horizon, his heart sank a little, and his fingers closed tightly around the cell phone that still bore her number.
He felt like a Romeo watching his Juliet getting carried away by the Capulets.
