This was one widely-known fact among many of the café's employees told to them by the most experienced of the maids (and it was hard to tell with her standing at four feet eleven and possessing the face of a prepubescent girl), Anita. She had given Mei a rundown on important information but never did she elaborate on the girl they called Edna. There has been talk going around the café about her for a long time. Some swooned over her, some disliked her, and some found her comfortable to be around. It confused Mei and got her curious. What was all this fuss about Edna?
A yellow flash appeared by the door. While the well-endowed maids rushed out of sight, a couple of maids stayed, namely Anita and Mei. One of them did not know what the other was getting her into.
"Welcome!" Anita bowed and greeted the customer in Japanese when the chimes rang. The maid switched to English upon seeing the customer's face. "Oh, Edna, it's you! Umika here will be serving you today, I'm sure you two will get along just fine."
Mei froze at Anita's sudden decision. W-what?! As Umika the rookie, she was entrusted to this customer - this Edna - and she was sure it was a ploy to get back at her after she scared away Kiku months back, whom the maids apparently liked as well. Or it was some sort of hazing, maybe. Mei was scared yet at the same time she wondered what made the girl so special. The blonde looked completely harmless... and very much like a certain Vocaloid. Maybe this wasn't going to be too bad.
Anita cleared her throat - oh, right. "A-ah, よろしく!"
