Yawning, Kiku saved and switched off his game, peeling himself from Willem's side to deposit the PSP on the nightstand on his side of the bed.

"I already got the whites in the wash. If you get the colored ones in next we ought to have them dry if we wake up on time." It was becoming a natural thing to do chores here or there, and he was fairly certain about half of his wardrobe had made it over here by now. Kiku was certain the same was true for Willem's clothes in his own apartment. "I'll help you, so we can get to bed faster," he yawned again, pressing a chaste kiss to his boyfriend's lips.

He smiled against Kiku's lips, pressed a soft kiss back to him.

"Sounds good."

Reaching down he picked Pochi's head up and set it to the side, freeing his ankles. Pochi made an unhappy noise but didn't wake. Running his hand softly over the fur between the dog's ears, Willem slid out of bed and started for the hamper.

"Do you know if my Ajax shirt is at your place or mine?"

"You wore it on Thursday last, I think," he answered folding the covers back up the bed once they were both out.

"So that was..." Kiku ran a mental list of Thursday night TV programming and tried to remember which apartment they'd been in. "My place, I think. With that bit of tomato sauce that got down your front when Pochi divebombed your lap." Even in sleep, the dog twitched at the sound of his name.

Ah yes.

He shot a look at the dog, resisting the urge to reach over and swat at the plumed tail. It was way too late for Pochi to think his humans wanted to play.

"I swear sometimes we need to make a list. Or find a way to bend space to access both apartments at all times."

Or just have everything in one spot, his mind supplied, but he dismissed the idea quickly. The only way to do so would be to move in together and that was a silly idea because....

He stopped, turning to look at his boyfriend as his mind tried to find a reason and failed.

Kiku stopped short, coming quickly to the same conclusion. His stomach exploded with butterflies.

Very slowly, he took a chance and voiced the idea they were both thinking.

"It might be easier if we lived together...on a more permanent basis."

His stomach jumped when he saw his own thoughts reflected in the way Kiku was looking at him, felt it jump again when those thoughts were voiced out loud.

Aside from Marc he'd never really lived with anyone else before, and definitely not anyone he was romantically involved with. True he and Kiku were pretty much already living at each other's apartments but even with that there was always the option of staying at your own place for a night or two or several if something happened. Sharing a home implied a lot of things about the permanence of a relationship, was a big step, and the Dutchman started to say just that.

And was totally surprised when what came out of his mouth instead was "I'd want to use my Opa's furniture."

"Of course," Kiku nodded. His furniture was mostly made up of throw-away pieces. Nothing with sentimental value.

Taking inventory of the things in his apartment suddenly made the situation very very real. And this was a big step. A huge step. And though he was getting used to Willem's small quirks here and there, as he was sure that his own were being done, it would be another thing to actually live together. He sat back on the edge of the mattress.

"Dear...do...you think we're ready?"

He came to sit beside his boyfriend, taking a moment to think.

"We'd have to make sure we had space to go when we needed to be alone," he responded after a moment. "and to compromise and set ground rules from the start."

He turned to look at Kiku.

"But it'd be more practical, and we've already shown we can share a living space and be happy in it."

He reached over and took Kiku's hand in his.

"I think it's worth a try, mijn schat."
