"Trolls-" Matthew stared after Sindre and blinked, quirking his head. "Oh- right! Sindre- uh hi..." he laughed weakly and closed the door behind him, sighing. This was still a little odd- awkward, really, but he figured it wasn't really a problem for Sindre to come over. Plus it was socialising.
And he didn't have anything else better to do.
"Um... I really don't think anything's here but- do you actually have a- process to doing this?" he questioned, blinking. "Like some kind of- plan hunting for this.... stuff?"
...can we pretend I wasn't a dumbass and that I really typed "gnomes" instead of "trolls"? orztalks_to_nisseOctober 19 2011, 19:59:34 UTC
Sindre's brow furrowed in confusion. "I normally just look for them," he replied. "Gnomes aren't exactly known for being sneaky. If I don't see them running around, I'm likely to see signs that they've been here."
He set his work bag down on the ground as he shrugged off his coat. "What were you expecting, a pentagram on the floor and chicken blood?"

Matthew sighed and smiled weakly at the other man, giving a shrug. "I'm not really... read on any of this kind of thing. I'm more of a- science guy? Not so much... uh- what do you call it-?"
He asked the question warily, not exactly wanting to upset Sindre, but still finding himself less than convinced of this whole thing. Because really, what was going to happen? Eaten by some malevolent force he couldn't see?

"Science is how humans attempt to explain the world," Sindre responded absently, following the wall closely as he went further into the apartment. "Just because it ignores what it can't explain rationally doesn't mean that those unexplained things aren't there."
He glanced back at Matthew with an amused smirk. "Besides, psychology is hardly a hard science."
Flushing just a bit, Matthew wrinkled his nose and sighed. "I guess you're right," he said with a slight smile, giving a shrug. "You got me on that one. But I just- I don't know if I can subscribe to the- paranormal, you know? I have my doubts..."
He shrugged again, offering a slight smile. "I'm not totally- discrediting- But I mean I'm entitled to a little skeptisism right? Maybe if I see some ghosts or... gnomes or something, I'll look into it a little more, eh?"

Shaking his head, Sindre shot Matthew a flat look. "Can you see creatures normally?" he asked, matter-of-factly. "Because most people can't. And if you can't see them, how can you take care of potentially harmful ones?"
And he didn't have anything else better to do.
