Afternoon Tea and Tulips
WHO: Willem and Matthew
WHEN: October 6th - noon
WHERE: LU campus cafeteria
WHAT: A simple little meet up between two potential friends - at least, when it comes to the tulips of spring (and memories of).
It was chilly, the warm glow of summer finally fading into the bright autumn leaves that hung to the trees around Liberty University, the amount on the ground growing more and more everyday. He'd manage to text Willem just before he left his class, arms full of books and feet kicking up crumbled leaves as his thumb flew across his phone. This is what he got. Taking notes by hand and reduced to 3Gs of wireless from his phone. He couldn't help but wonder when he'd get his laptop back, but for now it seemed almost a weight off his shoulders- allowing him to feel fall's chill for the first time and appriciate it.
"I can't believe I almost missed hockey season..." he mumbled, the new habit of talking to himself following over from the prepetual headset that had been on his ears, others like him just on the otherside, always listening, always willing to be there. "Stupid."
Matthew took in a deep breath, smelling the damp earth from just a slight rainshower that morning in an attempt to clear his head. He was almost to the cafe, every rhythmic step along the university's paved walks bringing him closer to actually being social again. Having a life outside of that box of wires and electronics. Just- hopefully he could ignore it for long enough to have a decent conversation with Wilm. Seeing as- well, his mind was having a hard time thinking about the new patch that was new to come out just next week that would give his druid a definite advantage in-
He was suddenly opening the glass doors to the tranquil cafeteria, looking around and wondering where those last few minutes went in a blur. Maybe it was a good thing to get out every now and again- "Willem!" he waved slightly, smiling as he spotted the Dutchman at one of the tables, walking over and plopping his books down. "Hey- nice to finally see you again."
