He disliked the lighting of the parlor. Everything was too white, like a hospital, like snow. The lights above them buzz and hum like insects. His lips close around large melting drop of vanilla on the side of his paper cup, and the sound of his slurping surprises him. It's too quiet in here, he notices. And Ion hasn't said a word since Ivan ordered their ice cream.
He has been acting so strangely lately; more of a creep than usual.
"Eyonya, you are so quiet. Why won't you say something?"
