Taking a final glance around his kitchen, Sindre looked for anything out of place. Prepared food and a sufficient amount of plates and silverware cleaned and set out, check. Small pile of presents, check. Happy Birthday banner and sundry other decorations set up, check. Baked goods courtesy of Kai, check.
All the guests ready and waiting, check.
Everything's ready, he thought to himself, pleased.
Though they had decided not to hide, lights had been turned off, dimming the apartment. And so when Berwald entered the apartment after work and flicked on the lights, he was greeted to the sight of his close friends and family gathered to celebrate the day he was born.
Smiling slightly at the shocked look on Berwald's face, Sindre stepped forward and embraced him. "Grattis på födelsedagen."
