Elizaveta had just finished her grocery shopping, and was looking forward to going back to Chueca to play with her cat when she heard her name being called out in a familiarly endearing accent. She was about to greet her employee when her eyes widened as a ball swooshed right past him.
"Manny! Are you alright?" Walking down to the fence separating them, she smiled worriedly.
"I hope getting a concussion isn't part of your normal Sunday routine."

"A-ah, ehe, no, señorita," replied the slightly frazzled Puerto Rican, shrugging a bit embarrassedly. "Usually it's two," he joked, leaning against the fence to talk.
"Pero, I'm fine, comes with having a hard head," he continued, laughing a little, "Como estas? Is rare that I see you outside of Chueca."
Elizaveta laughed at his small joke, tilting her head. "Well, still. Be a little more careful, will you? You're my very important bartender!"
Shurgging, she ran her hand along the fencing. "I just finished grocery shopping, nothing too exciting." She looked around the batting cage, "Do you come here often?"

"Alright, alright, I'll make sure," he laughed, shrugging. "I come at least once a week. I always say I'm going to join the team but I'm usually busy with other things around try-out time."
"Pero, still, having pipe dreams like that is good for the health, at least. You do anything with sports?"
"Eh, you're that good?" Elizaveta grinned, whistling. "If you ever do join the team then, you'll have to invite me to one of your games!"
Once again, she shrugged. "I used to play volleyball back in high school, but that's about it. My pipe dream was to own Chueca one day, you know? I used to be the bathroom cleaner, and I always wanted that bar for my own. And what do you know? It's come true!" She laughed, "Actually, this is the peak of my life right now."
"That's amazing," Emmanuel replied, pretty impressed. "Bathroom cleaner sounds a lot less fun than artist. Pero, I have never had that position." Chuckling a little, he shrugged. "I suppose I'm good. I'll find out next try outs, if I end up going. I think I'll try to, though."
Elizaveta only laughed, "A lot less fun. Still, I had fun. So now, I guess I'm just waiting for my next pipe dream to come along."
"Are try outs open? If you don't mind, I could bring you something and cheer you on." She smiled nervously, "But unfortunately, I know little to nothing about baseball."
oh Hungary, you are such a big sister. noquieromorirMay 19 2011, 15:15:49 UTC
"Si, at the end of May," he explained, nodding. "All you have to know is, if it looks like it's good, is probably good." Chuckling a little, he grinned. "That'd be pretty cool, si. I'd appreciate it."

"You would?" Manny asked, looking back at the machine that just attacked him he had just neglected, and smiled a little. "Stand back from the net in case I miss, alright? They hit hard."
Replacing his helmet, he turned the machine and got ready to swing, showing off all his practice.
Elizaveta nodded, laughing as she took a couple of steps back. As the first ball rushed by, she was shocked enough to take a few more steps back as the crack of the bat sent the ball back flying. Obviously Manny hadn't been just fooling around.
Impressed, she watched as he hit the balls one after the other until the round ended. She walked forward again, still a little wary. "That was actually so cool!" She grinned, giving him a thumbs up. "You're definitely going to make the team darling!"
Checking her watch, she smiled again. "Well, this is all the time I have before I have to go to Chueca. I'll see you tonight, so definitely get ready and find out about those try outs, okay?" With another wave, Elizaveta walked away, happy that she had gotten to know yet another of her wonderful employees.
