Who: Antonio, Francis, and Gilbert When: Feb. 1, early evening Where: Francis's and Gil's apartment What: An eviction notice, a couch crashing, and an awkward turtle
Gilbert had been napping on the couch, a book sitting on his face as he snored lightly. The tiny puff of feathers had been resting in his scarf but twittered awake as it heard the doorbell, little wings fluttering into life as he pecked at his master's chin in a very soft manner. The Prussian sat up with a start, groaning and mumbling in German as the book fell on his lap. He stared down at it before hearing the doorbell again and dragging himself off the couch, bird in hand
( ... )
"Haha...afraid I'm kindof a bum. Francis said I could use the couch for a while." Tonio's smile didn't fade a bit. In fact, it may have grown fractionally wider as he let his duffle and pillow hit the ground so he could pull the albino stranger into a sturdy handshake. "I'm Antonio, by the way. Nice to meet you, amigo~"
He didn't seem to mind a bit the odd look he was getting, or the fact that Francis hadn't warned his roommate of his arrival. "I don't know any songs about treating animals fairly, but I know a few about boots."
"A-Ah! Mes amies!" Francis stumbled out of the kitchen, flour still on his apron and hair all out of place. "Antonio!"
He paused, stopping, just behind Gilbert and stared at the Spaniard for a few tense moments. He blinked- once, twice, three times, and even a forth before he started to wipe his hands off. Really, what had he been thinking of when he invited Antonio to stay on his couch? The last time this had happened they...
"It has been too long!" he quickly moved forward, hip-bumping Gilbert out of the way and pulling Antonio into a tight hug. "It is so good to see you again! Oh- et Gilbert... This is Antonio; Antonio- Gilbert. He will be staying with us until he can find another place or... How long are you staying exactly?"
Antonio noticed nothing of awkwardness, tenseness, or apprehension. In fact, the events of the last time he'd crashed Francis's couch (and bed, and a few other places) were pretty far from his recollection. No, instead he returned the hug with a hearty embrace of his own.
"If you're alright with it, just until I can get the mess with the rent all sorted out. I think it'll be a couple days, tops~" Anyone who knew how the Spaniard handled money could guess that it might actually take weeks for that to happen.
Gilbert watched the hug, then listened to the dialogue going on between the two. "Wait- what?!" He stuck his hands into the middle of the embrace, forcing them apart and sticking himself right in the space between them. "Staying with us? As in here? What the hell-"
The Prussian turned to Francis, head tilting as he gestured at the tanned man, waving his arms. "Look at him! He's- not- WHO IS HE!? How do you know him!? Where is he going to live? Why does he have a turtle?!"
"Oh- ah-" Francis chuckled uneasily again and blinked at the Prussian, shifting from one foot to the other. "Antonio is an... old friend of mine. From our younger years- Gilbert please just calm down and listen to me... it will only be a few days and he will just be staying on the couch..."
Offering a light smile, he shrugged again, rubbing the back of his neck.

"Thought... I told you."
