Maddie knew she should have put on a disguise before she left. Maybe then, she wouldn't have to deal with annoying fans and their stalker tendencies. But enough about that, right now, there was a prince charming rescuing her.

On second thought, it wasn't much of a prince. Hell, it wasn't even a man. Though the lady's body was built and athletic, the long hair and the smooth, testosterone-less voice told Maddie otherwise. Either way, a savior was a savior. Maddie kept quiet, hidden safe and sound for now. She could take her chance and run away, but that seemed awfully rude. Against her better judgment and really curious of how it would all turn out, Maddie poked her head to the side and watched.

Georgie the Rabid Fan was staring, a bit confused but mostly irritated. Though not nearly as tall or built, he stepped forward and tried to scare off Mina.

"It's none of your business. Me and Maddie are best friends, yeah, Maddie?"

Maddie shook her head immediately and mouthed the answer "no."

"C'mon, get out of the way. Oh, wait, I know. No, this is perfect. Here, can you take a picture of Maddie and me? Just press the big button and hold it down for three seconds. You got it?"

Georgie shuffled over and held the camera in front of Mina; his face said he was completely serious.

Mina found it actually kind of funny when the man tried to intimidate her. Part of her Dutch heritage was that she stood 5'11" even without the extra couple of inches her heeled boots added, meaning that she was already looking down her nose at him.

She put this to good use when he held out the camera to her. She looked at it, an eyebrow raised, and then her eyes returned to his face.

"She said that she wants you to go away. What part aren't you understanding?"

Maddie didn't think anyone in the world could be that stupid. But here she was, watching a dead man walking. She didn't know this tall woman shielding her, but she was already eternally grateful for the woman's protection.

Georgie the Rabid Fan did not understand. If he did, he chose to ignore it. He waved the camera in front of Mina again and nearly shoved it into Mina's hand. Then, he tried to circle around her to get to Maddie.

Maddie's instinct was to duck to the other end, so now she was standing in front of Mina while Georgie was behind her. Now that she was able to see Mina's face, she had to gulp because, damn, this woman looked fierce.

"I'm so sorry," she apologized, holding her hands over her chest. "This almost never happens. Um, you should... just go. I can handle this... I think..."

Mina could have no more abandoned the other woman now then she could have earlier. Especially not now that she was looking into scared blue eyes. Taking Maddie by the arm she herded her towards the bakery, picking up the dropped bouquet and placing it in Maddie’s arms with a smile.

Then she turned and walked back to Georgie, who was standing on the sidewalk scowling. She squared her shoulders, stood up straight to maximize the effect of her height, and put his camera back in his hands.

“She said she wants you to go away. I’m not sure what part of that you don’t understand, but hopefully you do understand that if you don’t leave the police will be called.”

She reached into the purse at her side, drawing out a cell phone.

“You have one minute.”
