A Happy Birthday... With A Happy Ending?

WHAT: Raivis has a present for Peter. A very special present.
RATING: Rated M for M-MAYBEYES.

Today was Peter Kirkland's eighteenth birthday.

He was very thrilled in the morning. He had bounced out of his room with a wide grin and was greeted by a lavish shower of love by his dear Papa. A hearty breakfast, a nice present that he had yet to open, and a loving - but awkward - hug. At that time, it looked like it was going to be a wonderful day, and it very well should be for it was an exceptionally special day.

By noon, the excitement was starting to leave him. He was aware that he didn't know a lot of people at school, but he figured he knew enough that someone would at least wish him a happy birthday. But, of course, no one did. And when he loudly exclaimed "IT'S MY EIGHTEENTH BIRTHDAY" in the middle of a lecture on how the Industrial Revolution was the greatest revolution in the history of mankind, he was met with some puzzled, amused, and angry glares. The day was starting to not look so good.

When the clock struck six, marking the end of his long and tedious day in school, Peter Kirkland was a grumpy and jaded eighteen-year-old man. A very grumpy and jaded man. How could no one - besides his Papa and Mummy Stewart - care about his birthday?

His brothers did not make as big of a deal out of his very special day. Macbeth had given him a simple 'happy birthday, eejit and randomScottishrubbishthathecouldnotunderstand'. Arthur, on the other hand, was still missing from the face of the earth (Peter, overwhelmed with bitterness, sincerely hoped that Arthur was dead by now). Needless to say, the young man was very sorely disappointed at his brothers. Not that he was expecting much to begin with for he knew they were terrible, terrible jerks.

That Vietnamese girl must be having a blast at her party, he thought as he sulked alone in his misery.

A ray of hope by the name of Raivis Galante was the last thing in the godforsaken planet that gave Peter a reason to be still excited about his transition into legal adulthood.

A very special present was on its way; Peter could hardly wait.
