Who: Thera, Moon and Remy When: Tuesday, December 7th, lunchtime. Where: Deus Ex Machina What: Moon wants to ask Remy something, goes to find her at work, but finds something he didn't expect.
When Moon had first approached the counter, the woman behind it had neglected to even greet him. But as the question rolled off his tongue, he saw a shift in the beauty before him.
Head lifted, followed by eyes (pulling away from a fashion magazine) and hips shifted on the stool so that her new posture could be held.
Moon felt oddly scrutinized in a way he'd never been by a stranger before. The woman- 'Thera' by the looks of her nametag- set the magazine on the counter before her, closed it, and smiled brilliantly.
It really didn't seem like Remy was here. Moon looked at the woman behind the counter.
"I was wondering if Remy was still here. I'd like to talk to her." he said, wondering who this woman was. She was very beautiful, he couldn't deny that.
"I may know a thing or two of her whereabouts." Thera neatly folded her hand under her chin and placed her elbow on the counter top. "What business do you have with my dear?"
Remy blushed a little, realizing that she'd totally forgotten about Thera's party the moment Moon had asked her to spend Christmas with him, and that she'd blown the other woman off right in front of her.
"...I'm sorry, Thera. I was actually planning to ask Moon to come with me." She probably should have realized he would want to spend the holiday with his parents. "I probably would have been sort of lonely and boring, anyway." She shrugged. "Maybe I could help you set things up, though?" She hoped that would help to ease any hurt feelings a little.
"Everything is already prepared." Though, Thera did briefly consider something. "Tell me, dear. You've never been to New York before, have you?" At Remy's nod, Thera brightened and pressed her palms together excitedly. "Then you will have to dress properly. Let's go shopping before you head up."
"Sh-shopping? Oh... I didn't realize... You have to dress differently for New York?"
She'd heard it got cold there, but it was already pretty freezing here, so she figured she'd just pack her big coat, sweaters, and the thickest socks she owned. But, Thera had probably been there before, so she trusted her. Sort of.
"Of course you have to dress properly for New York. My god, Remy, you can't go to the fashion capital of America wearing that." Thera indicated the nice overcoat Remy was bundled up in. "Well, good thing we discussed this. It's settled, then. This Friday you and I will take the day off from work and find a proper wardrobe."
Remy opened her mouth to speak, but Thera's upward thrust of a fine finger murdered any coming words.
"And no, dear, I will not take 'no' for an answer. Not this time."
