Who: Meimei and Zhizhi
When: November 25th, noon.
Where: Mei's house above the Green Palace.
What: Mei asks Zhi to bake cookies for Conner. Cue wangst.
It took little convincing for Mei's mother and grandmother to agree to let Zhi come over today. Normally, anyone, male or female, who wished to visit Mei would be scrutinized and asked about two hundred questions before said person was allowed within the perimeter of the secluded abode above the Green Palace. When it was sweet, polite, intelligent Wang Zhi, however, the interrogation was thrown out the window and replaced with "好好, 他可以來! 他是一個好男孩。 您應該与他结婚!"
Yes, Mei had decided to keep her relationship with Conner a secret. Because, damn it, everyone in her family would go batshit insane if they knew she was dating an Irishman who was bartender and therefore did not have a stable or respectable income. Speaking of the Irishman, the reason for today's meeting was to bake a nice batch of cookies for Conner. And Mei had enlisted Zhi's help, but Zhi looked like he would be a good baker.
As they stood in the kitchen, mixing various ingredients together, Mei turned to the somber Zhi with a heavy frown. Zhi was a poker face, but since she knew him before she could tell the difference between yaoi and shonen-ai, Mei knew something was up with the Chinese boy.
"You are looking a little down," Mei mentioned, nudging Zhi in the elbow. "What's the matter? Is Yao giving you trouble? Should I go kick his ass?"
She would not realize that she herself was the cause of Zhi's woe.
