He heard the small peeps of Gilbird and removed himself from the depths of the rows of fabrics, rushing towards her, arms filled with the soft and light rolls of delicate fabrics. In his hair was perched a very lovely headband. "Lili, it's awesome you're here, I need to measure you right away."
He placed the fabrics on the counter, smiling at her, taking off the headband and putting it in her hair instead. "Sie sind eine ehrfürchtige Prinzessin~" He said, ruffling her hair as Gilbird fluttered to land in his hair, "Now go on, take off that heavy coat."
[translation: you will be an awesome princess]

"Danke Gilbert. A princess is absolutely perfect! And this headband...it's just so pretty!" Her small hands clapped together in front of her as a wide smile grew across her face. Princesses were always so pretty! Maybe she could be pretty like them for Halloween!

"Lili," he said, pulling the measuring tape along her thin limbs idly, humming a bit to himself, "Do you have a favourite princess?" He was of course referencing the own noble lineage of the Prussian house, however he wasn't about to give the girl a long rant about Princess Charlotte if she answered with something a little more mainstream, like Snow White or Cinderella.
He'd save the long rants about Prussian history for quiet days at the shop.

"Well, if you mean real princesses, I do think that Princess Sophie of Liechtenstein is quite lovely. B-but the romance and fantasy of those fairy tale stories always interested me more as a child. I guess, Aschenputtel, or Cinderella here in America, is my favorite." She smiled and laughed a bit remembering hearing the story read to her so many times by her bruder. A part of her almost missed the good old days. Some things never changed.
"How about you Mr. Gilbert? Do you have a favorite princess?"
Reply
"I already started the base of the dress," he said, waiting for his assistant to follow as he entered the small backroom, pulling a garment bag from one of the shelves, "I bet you'll like it a lot, since I made it and stuff. You'll be really pretty in it and definitely won't be walking around in a short skirt, not on my watch."
Herding her back to the front of the front (Gilbert did get most of his exercise just from walking all over the shop) and placing the bag on the counter, he started to unzip it. "And what happened to that... fifty-year-old guy you went on that date with?"

A warm smile grew across her face as they made their way back to the front of the store. "Thank you very much Mr. Gilbert. I do feel a bit uncomfortable at the notion of having to wear short skirts. Not without stockings or something under at least." She laughed a bit at his seemingly protective nature.
As she watched Gilbert begin to unzip the bag, her happy face fell a little upon the mention of Sadiq and their date. "Oh. Yes that. Well..." Oh, how to go about the ways she was let down? "H-he just doesn't exactly like me in that way. I guess. Or something." Assuming and hoping that sentence had turned into a complete thought, she gave Gilbert a half-hearted smile.

He winked at her, taking the dress around the counter to hold it out in front of her. "Satin, some nice laces and it should look nice with your hair and I hope it looks nice since you're tiny so I had to figure out what would suit you. Not that it was hard."
Tilting his head and holding it down, close to her, Gilbert gave one nod. The fabric definitely suited her. Not that he cared about matching fabrics. "Hmm... I think it'll be nice."
Reply
"Oh, Gilbert. It's more than nice! It's wonderful!" Her eyes sparkled imagining herself as a princess. She placed one hand on her mouth while the other touched the fabric just slightly, afraid she may mess it up.
"Y-you're amazing! Really, this is just...w-well awesome!" Little Lili was quite excited.

He took the dress, offering it to her. "Go try it on, I'll have to make the adjustments on you."

Once she deemed herself ready, the girl opened the door up slowly and made her way back up towards the front. She lifted up the bottom of the dress making sure not to get it dirtied in any way. "So, how does it look?" Her face was beaming with excitement.

Lili's brilliant smile probably made the dress a million times more brilliant. "Okay... We need some finishing touches. What does every princess need?"

"Danke Gilbert." The girl blushed slightly. She was definitely starting to feel like a princess now. But besides a dress what did a princess usually have?
She guessed,"A tiara maybe? Or nice shoes? Or-" A prince? No, not every princess had a prince. This one certainly did not. She laughed a bit to cover up her thoughts,"G-guess you can tell I'm not really used to this whole princess thing."

Returning to the front of the store, he offered the shoes. "They'll be a bit big, but whatever, you can learn to walk in them." Popping open the box and pulling out the necklace and sliding it around her neck. "It's not real diamonds, but it sparkles and that's alllllll that matters." Finally, he swept the hat onto his head. "And there, a princess. That took me, like, five minutes. I need my own makeover show."
Reply
"Gilbert! Thank you! You are amazing! You really should have your own show!" Her arms swung around him in a short hug before she stepped back, making sure she didn't ruin anything. "I can't wait to show bruder!" Her face was bright and cheerful, feeling very excited for the upcoming hallows eve.

He shook the thought from his head.
"Your brother?" Gilbert asked curiously, tilting his head. No way she had a brother... She was too cute and innocent to have some older male figure in her life (besides Gilbert of course). "I didn't know you had one? And why are you dressing up for him?"
Reply
"Oh yes, mein bruder. I forgot you didn't know. W-well he's always gone, and busy, and hardly ever talks to me much anymore. But, maybe if I show him my dress he will talk to me! Th-that would be kinda neat." The tiniest hint of sadness was written on the little princess's face as she spoke, but a spark of hope appeared towards the end.
