Lili was sitting in one of the many seats, watching as each auditioning student tried their best to get their respective part. She was nervous. Very, very nervous. This was the first time she had ever tried to even attempt to be in a play. The thought of having new friends and being up on stage felt nice though. She overheard Professor Ainsworth beckon the next student and she stood up. The young girl had to step it up sooner or later. Her eyes wandered around the auditorium as she made her way up to the stairs, finally looking at the two judges once she met the microphone.

"H-hello. My name is Lili Zwingli, and I am auditioning for the part of Cosette. I w-will be singing the song True Love's Kiss. (( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Vr8wU4aUsM )) She sang softly but made sure to be loud enough for the judges to hear. She transferred her anxious feelings with her hands as she fiddled with her fingers. It was better than sounding shaky while she sang.

As she ended, she took two deep breaths, looked back towards the professor's and smiled, feeling a bit pleased with how it came out. "Now, I will recite a monologue from The Notebook. Another breath, and she looked back at the audience with an innocent smile.

"Do you remember sneaking over here the first time you told me about this place? I got home late that evening, and my parents were furious when I finally came in. I can still picture my daddy standing in the living room, my mother on the sofa, staring straight ahead." She sort of swayed and gestured sweetly, trying to capture the mood of the lines.

"I swear, they looked as if a family member had died. That was the first time my parents knew I was serious about you, and my mother had a long talk with me later that night." She displayed a small laugh. Although she never actually experienced this kind of talk with her own parents, she knew what it was like.

"She said to me,'Sometimes, our future is dictated by who we are, not what we want.' And I know it was wrong of her to keep your letters from me, but just try to understand. Once we left, she probably thought it would be easier for me to just let go. In her mind, she was trying to protect my feelings, and she probably thought the best way to do that was to hide the letters you sent." Her tone attempted to convey a sincerity, and she put her hand on her heart.

"Not that any of it matters, now that I have Lon. He's handsome, charming, successful. He's kind to me, he makes me laugh, and I know he loves me in his own special way...but there's always going to be something missing in our relationship -- the kind of love we had that summer." Once she had finished, she nodded towards the judges and folded her hands in front of her, smiling widely.
