Who: MEIMEI AND KIMMY When: Tuesday evening, September 28th Where: MEI'S HOUSE/ROOM/BED/WHATEVER What: Kimmy comes home from her trip, and has realized her BFF has finally lost the last bit of sanity she had left.
Usually, Mei would have heard her grandmamma yelling her name and figured who it was at the door based on the volume of the old woman's voice. If it was someone she liked, it would be a very cheerful loud yell. If it was someone she disliked, it would be a very angry loud yell. If it was a stranger, it would be a cautious loud yell. Really, Grandmamma did not understand the concept of "indoor voice".
Usually, Mei would have bounced to unlock the door and let whoever in or go down to see them. Today, her thought and attention were occupied by the hairbrush in front of her mouth as she bellowed out "On My Own" in her soprano voice. Glee Club had taught her a thing or two about honing her singing skill.
"I loveeeee him~ BUUUUT everyday I am leaaaaarning. ALL MY LIFEEEEEE, I'VE ONLY BEEEEN PRETEEENDING!"
As she sang her heart out, she couldn't have noticed Kim standing at her door, watching like she was like possessed by the devil.
Mei was so caught up in her singing that she was squeezing her eyes so tight they could bleed. Obviously, it meant she didn't see or hear Kim approaching. When she was poked in the shoulder, the girl screamed and jumped, throwing her hair brush into the mirror in the process. The hairbrush ricocheted and hit her in the chest.
"SHIT! Oh no, I said 'shit', that's a bad word. I can't say bad words. Oh no, fuck. FUCK! I just said 'fuck', shit, oh damn it... CRAP!"
Once she was done talking to herself and calming her nerves, she turned around and finally acknowledged and realized that Kim was there.
Mei straightened up, rubbing the spot where the hairbrush had hit her. She climbed on her bed and invited Kim to sit down with her. Kim would of course notice that all the posters on the walls were gone. It felt so empty here in Mei's room. So... un-Mei.
"Ooooh, is that why you are here," Mei said, raising her eyebrow in a sly way. "Let's see here. He is an amazingly handsome man. He works at Winchester. He is from Ireland, he has a twin sister, and a lot more half-brothers. He wears a medium. His favorite color is... Wait, why am I telling you all these..."
"His name is Conner. Conner O'Connor-Kirkland, which by the way, is like one of the best names. Ever. Like. Ever. In the existence of namekind," Mei answered with a such proud smile. "I mean, how good does that sound? I'm going to be Mei Li-O'Connor-Kirkland. Oh, man, that is awesome...!"
SHOW COMMERCIAL~lotusviviSeptember 30 2010, 05:29:00 UTC
"... Conner?" Kim felt like she'd heard that name before. Then again, there were one or two Conners at school, so it probably wasn't that weird.
"Sounds like his parents were lazy when they gave him a name..." she said, and looked at Mei. The girl must've gotten another one of her random crushes. Kim just knew the Taiwanese teen would be the end of her one day.
"Oh, shut it, Conner is an amazing name." She resisted the urge to add "Better than Kim" at the end of the sentence.
As for the matter of how did she meet him...
"Well, we haven't actually... I mean, I've seen him a few times... but he... I don't think... he... you know... stuff."
Then her attention pulled to the muted television across from her bed. A shampoo commercial was playing, and a long-haired redhead showed up on screen. Mei gasped like she was on her last breath. The usual Mei would have be all up on that television.
Today, Mei sat perfectly still on the bed, her eyes glaring at the television screen. Her lips repeated something that sounded like... "He's mine. He's mine. He's mine."
The Vietnamese girl resisted the urge to roll her eyes and sigh at the other. Yes, definitely another crazy crush. When she noticed the commercial, she looked at it as well.
"..." It wasn't just the redhead that made her look, although for other reasons, but she recognized the darkhaired guy as well. "Moon?" After looking again.
"..." Yes, she had to laugh. "Didn't expect those two in a commercial..."
Kimmy always seems to know Mei's dream guys in the worst ways...lotusviviOctober 2 2010, 00:11:50 UTC
The look Mei gave Kim made her blink, but she decided to ignore it. If she told her about the incident at the spa, she might accuse her of the same thing she did when Berwald saved her from the truck. Even though she handled that incident pretty much on her own, Conner was just there in case, and she hadn't expected him to show up either.
"Moon knows him and I've met him once. If you wanna know more, ask Moon."
... Yeah, she was ready for a third degree interrogation now...
"And how exactly does Moon know him? What's their relationship? For that matter, why are they in a commercial together? Have you ever met him? Conner, I mean. I don't care about Moon. What do you know about Conner? Does he know who you are? Can you introduce us? Oh god, does he like Asian girls? Because I don't think I've ever seen him with a woman, except for that little redhead that I think is his twin sister, and unless Conner is into incest, I think I'm okay, and I have a chance at this. What do you think?"
Mei actually had to take a breath afterward and took a sip from her water bottle.
THAT ICON STILL MAKES HER LOOK LIKE AN OLD WOMAN WITH A CIGARETTE :llotusviviOctober 2 2010, 10:07:29 UTC
She sighed. "Mei, breathe for a minute, ok?" she said, folding her arms. "I've only met him once when I worked at the spa, and I really doubt he'll recognize me if we met again." All those questions were drilling a hole in Kim's brain.
"I have no clue why they were in a commercial together. I guess they have nice hair?" She really was clueless...
Mei did take a breath. She gripped her hair, tugging it unwittingly with nervousness and anxiety. If she pulled any harder, she might actually pull some strands out.
She listened and bit her lips.
"What was he doing at the spa? Wait. Does this mean you've seen him naked?"
"... I didn't work there to see naked people. Would you give it a rest?" Kim was honestly getting annoyed. Sure, at first Mei's weird antics had been fun, but now...
She could blame it on being tired from the long trip and that she hadn't really slept yet.
"He wanted a massage. It's normal to want a massage at a spa."

When they were 10. Not ten years later. Should she let her finish? Nah...
She went over to Mei, and poked her shoulder. "MEI!" she tried again.

"Yeah... I think she was in a good mood, but she still gave me that weird look she always gives me." she said, folding her arms.
"So... Who is he?" she then finally asked, too curious not to dig now.

"Because I'm your best friend and you usually share that with me." she answered right away, not even thinking.

What.
Mei turned her head, glaring at Kim with enough intensity to burn a hole through Kim's skull. Her eyes narrowed, her nostril flared.
