The sudden rap against the door pulled Valdi from the book held inches from his face, which was promptly dog-eared and placed to the side.
If it was Søren, perhaps Valdi would be able to ask him about what was wrong with his brother (and more importantly how to deal with it), because even though the Dane was loud and obnoxious, he seemed to know Sindre pretty well. Or at least he'd make moving around the apartment feel that little bit less awkward.
If it was Erin or Matthew well...they seemed like pretty nice people too.
Valdi creaked the bedroom door open and stuck his head outside. Matthew's brother; one of the few visitors he wasn't that close with. So much for that.
Alfred was panting as he stepped into the apartment, a backpack haphazardly slung onto his back and his hair was sticking up in odd places as if he had just pulled himself from bed and ran a comb only through half his hair. (Truth be told it was only one brush and that barely tamed the blond)
"H-Hey-" he said, swinging his backpack off his shoulder, pulling out his laptop and a few cords, dragging himself over to the TV, almost crying at the sight of it's... Bigness. So much better than Kirkland's old and clunky thing.
He took a deep breath, starting to plug things in. "I kind of moved to Myrtle House 'cause our apartment was getting fumigated because of the monkeys. So Kirkland had this little old TV and his wireless sucks so I'm here to stream it and watch it on the big screen." he paused, hands hesitating as he booted up his laptop, "If you don't mind..."
Spying on Bigbro doesn't exactly count as bonding...talks_to_nisseSeptember 17 2010, 21:40:43 UTC
Distracted by Alfred's harried arrival, Sindre almost missed the quiet creak of Valdi's door opening. Tensing slightly at the sound, he deliberately didn't turn around, didn't invite Valdi out like he normally would. More often than not his brother turned him down, and Sindre didn't exactly feel up to facing Valdi at the moment. Not after what he inadvertently learned.
That said, he wouldn't turn Valdi away if he chose to join. "It?" Sindre most definitely didn't look towards his brother's door as he translated the pronoun to a noun. "Oh, Merlin? I haven't seen it yet either

It's not spying it's bonding from a cautious distancepuffin_magicSeptember 19 2010, 04:31:57 UTC
Valdi edged closer, plusie held tightly against his chest (it never once crossed his mind that there might be something unnatural about an 18 year old clinging to a toy). The real puffin had made its nest quite happily in his room with no intention of coming out, almost as if it knew it had been the cause of so much trouble.
Merlin. Surely they wouldn't mind if he just...sat in the background and watched...right? Shuffling further into the main room Valdi kept his focus on Alfred as the American worked his way around the laptop and tv, not bothering to start a conversation with either of them.
When it came to moving around the house there would be good days and bad days (depending mostly on Sindre's mood- or rather, the boy's interpretation of it), and until he knew how forgiving the Norwegian was feeling today it was best not to bother him.
"Yeah yeah next time I'll call ahead." Alfred said, stepping back, grinning as his laptop's screen popped up on the big TV. "You have beer? Why can't I have beer? Just because I'm related to Matthew doesn't mean I can't drink! I'm almost 21! Just a few more months and I worked on a vineyard for crying out loud!"
Despite his irritation at not getting his way, Alfred paused, seeing the white-haired boy enter. He smiled a little. "It's... Valdi, right? I'm Alfred, you gonna watch with us? I hear that this new episode's gonna be really awesome!"
He winked at the young man before plopping down on the couch, pulling his laptop onto his stomach, starting to stream the video.
