He'd had a customer call earlier looking for a certain book, in the middle of trying to find it was when Sindre had come into the bookstore and tripped over him. Toris hadn't realized that there'd been a customer here even, he told himself that he really needed to pay attention to other things in the store rather than getting focused on one task. He seemed to miss so much whenever that happened.
When he'd heard his name being called rather than someone simply asking for help or other such thing when most could come into the Book Alley, Toris blinked up to see who it was and was surprised to see the somewhat familiar face of Sindre. He looked just as surprised to see the brunette as said brunette was surprised to see him.
He'd met the blond a few times before, and had heard of...interesting encounters told from the view of another...more...animated blond. He'd heard a lot more about Sindre than he'd actually seen of him. Then again, Feliks was always one to carry on a conversation with little to no contribution from the other side.
"Ah," Toris stood up and pushed some hair out of his face before giving the other a small smile, "Sindre, how're you?"
short post is lame and late but i have much packing to do and firefox ate my first one.talks_to_nisseAugust 21 2010, 06:34:59 UTC
Sindre offered a small smile in return. "I...I have most definitely been better. Work was particularly troublesome today." An understatement, to be sure, but as Toris seemed to be friends with Feliks, he didn't want to disclose too much unless invited. Sindre certainly didn't understand how it worked, but to each his own.
"How have you been? It's been a while since I saw you last." Another understatement; Sindre honestly couldn't recall the last time they had spoken.
Reviving~! because I'm a horrible person XD but we already established thattoris_toriDecember 5 2010, 20:42:04 UTC
"Ah, busy as ever," Toris smiled gently picking up some more books to put away in various shelves, just because he was talking to a...friend?...associate?...customer?, didn't mean that he could just stop what he was doing. He'd gotten in trouble for that more than a few times from his boss, so he had to learn to do both at the same time, it worked better.
Taking a good look at Sindre he noticed the slightly frazzled air about him and wondered what could be causing that...then he remembered Feliks talking about his "hippie" friend quite frequently as of late and gave the other a sympathetic smile and he guessed, "So...I'm guessing Feliks has been giving you a hard time?" he said in a tone of someone that knew exactly what was going on.
"That's...an understatement," Sindre sighed. "He started a fire in the shop today. No one was injured, but...just another hassle to deal with." He grimaced as he pictured the utter disaster that was the afternoon. "He paid to cover the damages, at least. That's more than I had honestly expected out of him."
Again, not quite true. Sindre had told Feliks that his future was going to be extremely important and therefore more expensive, and named a price that ought to cover the damaged books. Feliks had believed him completely, sadly enough, and it all worked out fine. Minus Sindre now having to find a new display table.
Wincing in sympathy, Toris wanted to think that Feliks wouldn't do that, but if he had to be completely honest with himself, it sounded exactly like the him. Of course the fire-starting wouldn't be on purpose, that would be unlikely but Feliks had a way of...getting himself into trouble. So while the action itself was surprising, the fact that Feliks had been in the middle of it, wasn't.
He came to Feliks' defense anyway, at least to let Sindre know that he wasn't alone when it came to being frustrated with the guy, "He's not a bad guy, he just tends to be...not all there. I can talk to him if you want? It probably won't do much good." Toris gave an ironic laugh, "But I always can if you need me to."
Schooooooooooooooool /totally blames it for the delay. And for the shortposttalks_to_nisseDecember 22 2010, 06:32:51 UTC
Shaking his head, Sindre snorted with not-quite amusement as he picked up a book at random. "If you think you can talk sense into him, go ahead and try. I've given it up as impossible. I'm not sure he understands social conventions".
Flicking through the book, Sindre frowned at a passage of particularly poor prose and hastily replaced it. "I'm not certain he even understands reality. He still thinks my neighbor is a dragon."
